I knew I was right turbos mail. Maybe u should read the updated copy not the draft copy.

All good mate, never been a good reader, prefer to look at pictures. Lol.
But it's included in the cap so it's more an upfront payment I guess. Sign ons should be outlawed but if it taken of their match payments then I'm ok with it but it's very risky unless the person is of high character and integrity..

Can confirm craigieburn no under 19s. Thought on how EDFL will handle this.

Very disappointing as they have one of the largest catchment area"s in our league. Think the league won't be happy. Should be kids everywhere, so what's happened? What does the future hold for CB..

They did allow Northern Saints to miss some games when they were in premier but they never gave up and kept putting out a team..

Turbo, agree very disappointing! In the same catchment area Greenvale is also struggling to fill a 19's team. WESTMEADOWS likely to have 2 teams U19. Something isn't stacking up here.

Maybe its how the club has been operating. I don't know just putting out there. Maybe they have been paying too much attention to the seniors and reserves and have forgotten about the juniors. Maybe its been the coaches, who knows.

2 x Byes in u/19 Premier is not great for the competition! I wonder if Greenvale/CB could have a one off merged team this season ? I'm sure both clubs will work hard to make sure this sorted in coming years and both comtinue to field strong junior teams. Full credit to Westy for getting 2 to u/19 teams they must be doing something right.

It was always going to be a tough year for clubs to field u19 teams as there are no graduates because of the change to 17s but all the top age 18.5 players have graduated to seniors. IT will even out again next season but i am sure that greenvale and craigieburn are not the only clubs struggling at this stage. If the league had shown some foresight and made this year 19.5 and then rolled back to 19 in 2018 then that would have solved the problem for a lot of clubs.

Going on the ins and outs it looks like Keilor, Abers and Greenvale will have weaker lists this season and that Douttas, Marby and possibly Pacco have stronger ones.
Will we see a vastly different top 4 ?
Will Marby and Douttas sneak in ?
Will Abers slide due to their outs and likeliness to play younger kids this season ?
Will Strathmore rise with their big name recruits ?

Anyone care to share their opinion on this ?

Top 4 - No particular order.

Keilor
Stratmore
Doutta's
Marby

Greenvale and Abers - OUT

Why would that be Boys.....Over the Hill?

I think it was a panic buy. Hence the late signing of him. He definitely wouldn't have been their first choice but settled on him due to background as an Afl player.
When was the last time Greenvale had a coach that didn't play at the highest level ?

From all reports doing a great job down there ATM. Probably got the best assistant coach in local football in Victoria helping him out. Jets to finish top 2.
Keilor to miss finals
EDS
Jets
Abers
Pacco

Good point.

Craigieburn will probably be playing a fair amount of those U19s in the senior side, so while there's a downside there will be an upside too.

I see they'll be playing a practice match v Jacana next week.

Hey Mel, don't agree entirely as if younger guys are playing ones and they are coping hidings each week it won't be good. They will need to be top end talent to survive in premier at 18-19 years of age.
On the flip side I'm all for playing some younger guys but they must deserve & warrant their spot, not be given a game purely on the quality of players available.

I really hope CB can compete and stay competitive otherwise can't imagine to many people getting along to games out there or away games.

Why couldn't they attract a high profile coach they were after?? Something doesn't seem right to me Mel..

With Clinnick at Marby there's a few decent assistants going around by the sounds of it.
