Is that you Turbo?

More comebacks than Lazarus, Rocky and Johnny Farnham combined!

Not me PuffPuff, as why would I comment on St Francis, and use this account name.

I'm trying to remove myself from big footy, but thanks to those "true" footy followers, who have shown me support over recent days.

Puff-
- BTW the song goes hot potato/hot potato not Tomato/tomato.
- Maybe someone has found my identity and realised I'm not from Pacco, but I'm on the Abers payroll.

GO ABERS.

Would a trial on the VAFA model be an option? Grand finalists are promoted and bottom two demoted?

It'd give more weight to this current season as an example as West Coburg and Airport West would still be battling to survive.

Also agree with you BlueJet on this week's games - Keilor go into the game at our place as favourites given their last two months and the injuries to our list?

Strathmore trying to salvage something from their season but the Jets get some great talent back in this week and should win plus will have a bit to play for following the carry on after the #headcountgate and I think Marbi, Avondale and Pascoe Vale should all win well.

I've always believed the VAFA model is good. Bottom 2 down, grandfinalists up. It's been a really tough year for the Saints, really tough. Players, officials and supporters. Div 1 will provide some respite and a chance to re-energise. The club will be better placed having had Premier experience. No's have really dropped off, so the club is looking for former players to make their way back and new players to create a new future. It's a good club, good people, had it's challenges.

I follow this league from afar and get to the odd game when I'm in the area. One thing I will say is everybody is passionate about there club, which is great, were things get hairy is when people get personal, have an oppion and move on. Getting personal is not needed, get over it. If you follow that mantra and don't take offence and people respect everyone's oppion it will be fine.

I was thinking something along those lines but I wasn't sure whether that sort of system would take the gloss off the div 1 premiership with second place being promoted as well.
I think that it'd certainly reinvigorate the comp a bit though.
I managed to get down to Keilor with the split round in the BFL, they've got enough quality, especially through their kpp, to put a scare through any side when they're up and going. It'll be interesting to see how they stack up against the ladder leaders.

how could you write that with a straight face. undefeated smashing every team in there path and yet now keilor are favourites away from home? absolutely taking the piss. have you admitted yet that abers are unbackable favourites for the flag?

having said that i'll still be cheering for the keilor boys on saturday

Let's be honest here. This is how the season will pan out.
Rd 17- Abers will smash Keilor by 60+

Rd 18- Abers will beat Strathmore by 45+. Will rest some players in what could be a tough match on the tight ground.

Semi Final- Abers to win by 90+

Grand Final- Abers to win by 100+

Both EDFL & WRFL Grand Finals will see big winning margins to Abers & Deer Park.

The mentally strong embrace the situation..

The rest choose to handle it otherwise..

I hear you but you'd think both sides would still have a crack because you're playing for a premiership.

Would be a huge change to what we're used to.

Mentally strong people understand they are in control of their actions and emotions.

They know their strength is in their ability to manage the way they respond.
so having said that you still think Abers are underdogs against Keilor? Please when will you learn mate that Abers would be favourites against either Carlton or brisbane atm let alone a fellow EDFL side.

Turbo any mail on heights coaching position?
Hey MM, AH still looking far & wide. Believe they have had initial talks with 2 Footscray VFL players in Prismall & Russell. Possibility of Brett Goodes coming across if they snare one as coach.
Only rumours at this stage....

Hey MM, hearing some interest from a recent ex Premier coach, who was an ex afl team mate of a previous coach of Avondale. Is a bit of interest in this job and they will have some spare $ for a few players due to a couple of departures expected.

I doubt it Turbo but you may know more than me.

A couple of ex WRFL coaches are interested in it also apparently!

Last week was told not as many departures as people want you to believe on Big Footy. Patty Rose and Cravino committed(signed) last week and they had another 6 this week with more to come by end of season, the rest saying they want to stay but want to wait until the coach is announced to ensure they will be coached well unlike this year.
I remember seeing something on here that Rose and Galea 100% gone, whoever posted that obviously has no idea.
They will probably finish 5th and go into next year with a good list with not much work to get back up into the 4 , very sort after job I would've thought.

Hey Bang, very well said. I know all the players are very close and the majority are pretty loyal and do like it there. Yes it's a good list and I said only a couple of departures are what I'm hearing. Obviously no player will say anything till after the season but I believe Galea is going and heard Rose also talking to some country clubs. But if you say his signed well that's different to my information. Not sure Rose would sign unless he approved of the coach. Both elite players no question, but think you only need 1 as both similar players and they both like to be the main man up forward. Remember Rose did kick a 100 being the lone forward.
Bit of a funny year for Avondale and definitely the club expected to improve again but didn't. The right coach could turn it around very quickly.
The other thing they are working on is off field and trying to bring back the supporters and improve the junior structure. Wish them luck as they are a good club with the best jumper.

The latest on the Avondale coaching situation is Patty Rose will be appointed captain/coach and Galea a big chance to stay. Very interesting if true.

Bang- you might be on the money..

Mighty Mick would be the second highest paid coach next year.. Lol

Turbo, would love to know your source or sources. In the space of 2 days you have given 3 different coaches of Avondale; all with no backing.

Looking on the O&M forum you last week said that patty Rose was 100% done deal gone to wodonga, now his going to coach avondale? After earlier today you didn't even know the fact that he had signed up at Avondale. Would presume someone with so much knowledge as yourself would have found out a lot earlier that he had re-commited.

All for rumours and this is getting towards the 'silly season' but at least have a bit of meat to the rumour. you're just making these up yourself and they have no credibility.
