You can only trade away that years and next years picks.

Steak knives involves a player wanting to come to ess.. I'm not that confident you will have that player.
Future picks are a gamble... but I spose you back yourself to finish higher next year.

All the noise is that Saints are making a big play, and according to Brett Anderson, your club is the one with the highest offer in terms of $$. Who knows, maybe you want to use a later pick on him & convince him to come to you guys with the higher pay packet, but what we should all know now is that you can't trust what a club sais in the media because behind closed doors their is always ulterior motives. A pick from you guys would be a good outcome for us, and a KPD to go along with the nicely developing Goddard and you'll be sweet for many years to come. You will have both ends sorted in terms of KPP. I can see why Saints are making a big play for him.

If we could get him "cheap" I don't see any problems. hawthorn didn't seem too fussed last year putting him on the table but I wouldn't waste a high pick on him. Question is get him (or someone like him) with a little maturity or go to the draft.

I'd be happy to take both with our 3rd and 4th picks, not sure they'd be available any later.

So Winderlich gone, Carlisle gone, Fletcher gone, and about 4 more potentially gone, all of a sudden defence becomes a genuine need, the cupboard lacks quantity.

B: Baugley (Ashby), Hurley, Gwilt (One of Pears or Steinberg)
HB: Hibberd (Browne), Hooker, Gleeson (Fantasia, Stanton)

That's basically what we're rolling with going in to 2016, and that's disgustingly thin, even though 4 of them are potentially AA caliber. Bare minimum has to be one draft age key position defender, then later on you'd think we look at Brown (Hird basically said we would draft him if available, I doubt that's changed). I'd take it even further and look at another developing tall defender if we find someone we rate appropriately.

thought it was silly when he went there as both him and lobbe are better as rucking 80 % of game time. but really think he could be gettable... but again both him and belly will struggle in the same team
