The only concern I would have with taking Francis so high is that anyone can look like a star playing as loose man and taking intercept marks. Adam McPhee and Kepler Bradley seemed pretty damn good at one stage when they were doing the same thing. The same can be said for Oxley in a few Collingwood games this year.

Yes Francis has more weapons than those guys and I'm not trying to say he will end up like any of the above players, but it's just something to consider when determining the true worth of players in the draft and where they rank.
McPhee was incredibly underrated. He was an All Australian and was a very good player through the mid Noughties.

Wasn't always played as a 3rd tall/rebounding defender, spent a lot of time in the midfield in the carnival and up forward. Francis is easily in the top 5 most talented players in this draft pool.

Would rank the top 10 talents as:
1. Weitering
2. Schache
3. Francis
4. Parish
5. Mills
6. Hopper
7. Kennedy
8. Curnow
9. Milera
10. Weideman/Mathieson

He had one good year with us. Then we Essendon'd him.

What even is a contract!

Made up word that means nothing in the AFL world.

They have a whole book of them- integrity, culture, contract, governance.

You will get the hang of it

A likely number one draft pick has hype, surprise surprise. Schache has had his colours lowered by Weitering when opposed to him this season, saying he is by far the hardest opponent he has matched up on because he can't get any seperation when leading. Schache dominated the champs, mostly because he was being fed by the best midfield and engaged in one on one's against poor opponents. Francis was by far the best player at the carnival.

Have you ever seen Weitering play? He was swung forward in the last quarter IIRC (could've been the third) against Eastern and managed 2.2 in a game where Dandenong struggled to score. So contrary to your opinion, he can go forward and have an impact. However his forward ability doesn't make him a good backman. His elite intercept marking, athleticism, reach, rebound, footskills and strength in 1v1's do which is why he won't be "just a good defender", he'll be an elite one.
**** Carlton.

google the word Nominal..
Pretty sure there are no actual Nominal picks..

Point was why wouldn't you just call it 26..

Anyway, if you'd like to measure dicks on who has better English skills I suggest you concentrate on your nominal people skills..I did laugh when I saw what you said about how people treat you at parties..

Now, could you please point out where you proved me wrong "again" easy to make crap up....
Why you being a dick? Eth is a great bloke and you're getting carried away about .... ?

A direct copy from a post I just put on the D&T board:

Very interesting note;

At the members forum last night, a member posed a question as to why Essendon had 'again' be fined by the AFL for breaching the Anti-Doping code. I don't know if any of you recall the incident in question, but here's a link for anyone interested:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-10-05/essendon-among-four-clubs-fined-for-asada-breach

The answer, given by Rob Kerr, was revealing. He said, very pointedly, that when players go on end of season leave, they are required to do a post season medical, and then attend the administration office to let the club know where they are going and when so that this information can be passed on to ASADA.

Whilst not mentioning Carlisle by name, he 'spat' (for lack of a better word), that a player that had 'quit the club', didn't show for either of these requirements; and the inference was very clear that it WAS Carlisle. Worth noting that Carlisle WAS still under contract at this time, and was obligated to complete these requirements.

In addition, Kerr thanked Hawthorn by name when discussing our off season activities and then stated, and I quote, that 'St Kilda attempted to stitch us up'.

These two pieces of information reaffirmed for me two facts that I thought were reasonably obvious even at the time:

1) Carlisle is an incredibly unprofessional person.
2) St Kilda acted like rank amateurs, and were deliberately attempting to 'under' a deal.

Absolutely deserving of each other. If I was a betting man I dare say in several years this deal is going to be looked at VERY harshly by St Kilda fans.
****ing lol

I heard something on the lines that they did something similar to membrey where they ended up walking him to PSD.
