A little too much confidence from everybody. Every game in the PL is tough as even Luton have shown. It wont be so easy against United.
Man up Jodly, it'll be a cricket score.

Yes. Liverpool supporters were confident they couldn’t beat United 7-0 and United supporters were confident going into the Bournemouth game after beating our equal in Chelsea.

It’s going to be embarrassing and that’s before you consider the (average) players United won’t have available.

United will park the bus in this game, don’t think it’ll be anything like the 7-0, they’ll be going for damage limitation from the off.

Think it’ll be a 2 or 3 goal win at most, with the worst case being we don’t find a way through.

Two or Three Hag doesn’t quite have the same ring to it as Seven Hag does hey :D

Expecting ETH to pick some younger Utd players that will show some true passion for the shirt and play a compact, defensive game. It's not going to be like the 7-0 last season. If ETH can build a siege mentality for this game he may actually get the entire team to raise its game.

Any win is fine by me. 3 points is 3 points.

Even if we attempt to park the bus we won’t be any good at it, this isn’t a Jose team, Liverpool will find space everywhere and expose all our weaknesses, I expect us to only have about 25% possession for the whole game.

It's wild to me that one of football's biggest clubs plays in a stadium limited to 57k fans.

Will be 61k once the new Anfield Rd stand gets full approval & council certification. Was delayed due to Buckingham group going bust earlier this year (they are a huge in the UK - think multiplex here).

Expansion beyond 61k requires a new transport hub to be built (train station, bus interchange etc) and also acquisition of more properties on the Kenny Daglish stand side. So while the club could easily fill an 80k stadium every week it just isn't feasible without billions of investment and at that point it'll take 20 years of extra ticket revenue to break even. Plus. with 20 year long season ticket waits and demand for tickets far outstripping supply it means matchday revenue remains high with a 61k capacity venue.

Pretty much does not make financial sense to turn Anfield into an 80k capacity venue. And for that reason alone it won't happen.

I have a couple of ideas
Why not line up as an 11 man well across the goal for 90 minutes?
Or let Onana pass the ball to Nunez to let him shoot at an open goal every time so he can then waste another 30 seconds after the inevitable goal kick

Is that low? Once the Anfield Rd end is done our capacity will be 61K which just below West Hams 62 and Spurs 62 and behind Uniteds 75k at Old Trafford which is a shithole.

West Ham only have that big a stadium too cos they moved into the olympic stadium.

You can say it, it's not taboo.
West Ham are squatters.

Why are they squatters?

Sweetheart lease deal for London Stadium post London 2012. One downside is that it can't be permanently converted to football configuration as it is London's track & field venue. And West Ham seem happy to keep it that way instead of buying it.

Not completely, West Ham are exploring options to buy it.

You need a rectangular stadium for football. West Ham might get 60k crowds but have struggled to create a good atmosphere in an oval stadium where the fans are a long distance from the players.

Then it's a compromise between fans being close to the action and those in the stands not being too far away to be involved. Plus the financials of building a larger stadium. Tottenham and Arsenal have built new stadiums catering for 60k fans. City and Everton more like 50k.

Then you have the Nou Camp which for all its worth saying it holds 20k more, a lot of the seats have awful views of the pitch and the atmosphere is hardly on par with the quality of football on the pitch
