Hird’s recovery from navicular stress fractures which is career ending in the vast majority of circumstances is extremely eyebrow raising.
Absolutely. Matty Egan never played again and Jack Trengrove's career was destroyed by his injury.
But Hird team up with Charters and comes back miraculously better and plays for another 8 years. Coincidence?

Corcoran told the Herald Sun he approached Fitzpatrick — who he was an acquaintance of because his wife and Fitzpatrick’s wife were friends — at an auction in 2016.
“I approached him and asked if there was any chance I could speak to him about having some involvement back in the game,’’ Corcoran said at the time.
“He never answered my question, he simply turned and said to me ‘Your mate Hird will never get back into football’.”

And the Herald Sun can reveal Essendon and the AFL have supported SIA in its attempts to prevent the release of the documents to economist and former Australian Test cricketer Bruce Francis.
“The Essendon members and general public should be enraged to know that the AFL and the club are still involved in a massive cover-up,” Francis said.
In a letter to the AAT in December 2021, former Bombers chief executive Xavier Campbell said: “In accordance with our understanding of the wishes of the vast majority of the 34 players who were issued with show cause notices, the Essendon Football Club does not consent to the disclosure of the information in the documents”.
But but... thought they wanted the truth to come out...

it's intriguing to think that a lot of the malice directed at * would be diluted somewhat if they would only put their collective hands up - we could go back to the regular level of revulsion we have for that mob...........
Didn’t and haven’t seen much malice diluted towards us - despite our members ousting our corrupt board and the subsequent board going to the AFL with clean hands.

GWS have just sacked a senior assistant coach (with no doubt approval from the AFL) after he was charged with use of illicit drugs, let’s see how long it is before this poor fellow is hired back again in the AFL industry.

Actually I’m just thinking what colossal double standards by GWS and the AFL that they even hired Hird as an assistant coach yet they just recently sacked this assistant coach.

if I listened to guesSEN apparently I'd have heard andy gaze asking why all the latest hooha about *? when andy maher told him it was the 10 year anniversary of the drug scandal, gaze suggested "in the future will they be having a 30th year reunion?" I'd have cacked if I'd heard that.........

What are his credentials? Was he at Essendon? Is he in the media, a journalist or newspaper editor that would be in possession of anything they couldn't release because they couldn't confirm it? Is he a doctor, specializing in supplements and nutrition? Is he a seer, capable of seeing the future and the past as one?
What is the relevance of Allan Hird beyond being the father of James to the Essendon drugs saga?
