Cant believe essendon the once mighty club is now a laughing stock of the afl, they have one of the worst lists i have ever seen, all there so called good players are facing retirement soon and there youngsters are the worst in the comp whuilst there midle aged players r laughable.

Sheedys obcession with flag 5 has set this club back a good decade in my opinion, his drafting of recycled players since 2000 was beyond a joke and the last 3 yrs have been proof of that, no matter how good Knights is as a coach he isnt a miracle worker and i cant see them finishing higher then 11th.

i feel there are at least 5 yrs of gloom ahead and i am in shock that some ess people think they can play finlas and challenge top 4, wishful thinking at best, this club is going down and it may need to do a Carlton and tank for 3-4 yrs, get some good picks and get good kids because if u think blokes like watson, Stanton, Hille, Dyson etc r going to take u anywhere u have problems, the once arrogant juggernaut now is a joke but i guess most r pretty happy about it.

You obviously don't pay close attention to our young players, all the experts believe Essendon had by far the best drafting of 2006, Gumbleton, Jetta, Hislop, Reimers, Davey.

I think Geelong supporters are getting a little carried away frankly, it won't be long til the shoe's on the other foot and we don't hear a peep out of Geelong supporters for another 44 years!

Saw Collingwood vs. Essendon in about round 16 this year. Jay Nash was terrible... Continued to get turned inside-out by D.Thomas, leading to a couple of straight-forward Magpie goals early on. (even Peter Costello was horrified) Can't say I've seen much more of Nash, but at the same time I havn't heard much good either

Hislop is largely untried isn't he?

And Houli had almost identical game time and stats as Brad Dick in 2007 and the two were taken at about the same time in the 2006 national draft....How often do you hear Collingwood supporters spruiking Brad Dick? Not very often...

Don't bother taking much notice in Collingwood, now why would an Essendon person do such a thing?

Houli has been dominating the VFL and getting plenty of touches and his disposal is grouse. Just ask anyone. His work ethic is greater than that of Dick.

I'll dumb it down for you. they are unproven or are developing, but this thread assumes they are already washed up.

He has one year to do something or will be flicked. I suspect he will be tried down back to see if he can make it. He is not in our core group of youngsters being developed.
