Don't know who Essendon & the Saints have left out, but they look a lot closer to full strength than us. Methinx the boys will have their work cut out.

Our list is looking in pretty good shape. Albeit that's pretty easy when comparing it to recent past seasons.

I anticipate the next 2.5 days will be my most optimistic for the team's prospects for the year.

Along with the newbies and Mitch up forward, I can't wait to see the impact of Burton and Woewodin.

I imagine Heppell will easily take the points (for now), but I hope to at least see a couple of flashes from Polec.

Our list is looking in pretty good shape. Albeit that's pretty easy when comparing it to recent past seasons.

It does feel kinda weird leaving players out who aren't injured.

I'll be very interested in who looks better and I think most Lions punters would be just a little curious.

Don't know who Essendon & the Saints have left out, but they look a lot closer to full strength than us. Methinx the boys will have their work cut out.

In terms of important players, no Pears or Hille but we're pretty right apart from that.

We're allowed "a" squad of 36; basing off praccy matches it'll probably be a pretty even split of our better players* between both games.
The guys to play both games might all be talls judging purely on balance.

*Insert witty line about cutting Watson in half etc. here

Hasn't shown up on the injury list but they're probably just being cautious with him.

Couldn't care less about whether we win or lose. The only positive in us winning this novelty game is the chance to see us again on TV before the season.

As long as Polec, Bewick and Beams get a lot of game time and opportunity to earn them a spot in the round 1 team then it's a success. It will be good to see what Karnezis, Lester, Green and Golby (Why isn't Dyson getting a game?) can do, as it sounds like Lester and Green might get a chance later in the year.

Hope to see Banfield in the middle to see how he goes.

As per the Lions website... Browny was scheduled to be there but has had to pull out because of an infected wound.

Call me paranoid, but just saw the boys checking into their hotel and couldn't help bit notice that Mitch Clark seems to have had a hair transplant. Did he take all of the sides offcuts and put them on his head?

On another note, I have always loved the fact they stay in a hotel on Roy Street, not too far from the old Junction Oval

We don't get to watch it live up here in Queensland it's shown on 7 in Victoria. But up here 7 doesn't show it at all it's on Fox Sports at 10 pm.

Have no way of watching this game, and it's just pathetic. To my knowledge, pubs don't show Main Event so im screwed. The AFL seriously needs to step in and get this kind of shit sorted out. If they want to grow the game in, they need to be showing it on TV. Letting networks show it at midnight is just not acceptable.

The fact that we get to see Richmond and Carlton in primetime last week adds to the annoyance.
