Who'd even wanna watch this shit. Hope the head honchos dont go complaining when they get no members. Dont mind taking out hundreds of dollars but quite happy to do all the same crap as last year.
PS- Yes its a practice match, but it is for Essendon too, I have the radio on and can already tell its the same thing as last year- turnovers, skill errors, not manning up, no forward line.

You can't ignore the inexperience of the team we named. 10 players on debut.

It's not pretty, but c'mon, some perspective is in order. Add Brown, Black, Power, Merrett, Patfull, McGrath, Adcock, Drummond, Redden, Polkinghorne to that side and it would be instantly competitive with that Essendon side.

Expecting a better showing against the Saints with Ash, Merrett and Patfull brought in.

Great. All we need is another 30 odd players and we have a team.
Little comfort that Polec can play.
Don't think I'll be up past midnight to see the rabble that was.
Sorry boys, I love our team but you need to earn suupport as much as earn the ball.

Appreciate the sweet more when you've tasted the sour. Stick fast.

Cmon you people!...did you really expect to win??...We had our Lion cubs out there..

Both Saints and Bombers have nearly a full team in..

...anyway, in the scheme of things, I'd rather start off very ordinary and come home with a bang..than starting really well (eg..last year) then dying into the important end of the season..

Don't lose faith over tonights footy...its only AFL's version of 20/20:)

Bunch of people sooking on here, really guys get a grip. Im pretty sure our 2nds side last year had more senior players playing than this side tonight. We are a young team rebuilding, it's better to give these guys a taste now rather than in a regular game. We probably had 5 players in our best 22 playing.

Our seconds team couldnt win a game either so thats saying something about rebuilding

Yes but what is the point of sending them out to be smashed? I can't see them taking too many positives out of that. Hopefully the more experienced guys in the second game can give them a bit of leadership.

Wow...recriminations after a mean nothing glorified practice match to have a look at the youth.....I can hardly wait til after round 5 when my season forecast has us still on 0 points.

Maybe competitive would have been nice for the players and supporters.
I'm all for positive thinking, but come round one and through to round 22
positive thinking won't cut it. As Lets Roar said, same shit over again.
I hope I am proved wrong, but NAB cup or for real, not a good start whatever spin you put on.
And as for playing the youngsters, the way our seniors played last year, they should be made to play practice matches because the regular season is too late to practice.

O'Brien has tried hard, disposal hasn't always been the best, but has been in there giving it a good go. Big Broc has looked pretty good as well. Green and Polec always looking to play on or get around their opponent, both will slot into our 22 nicely in time. Banfield not getting much done higher up the ground, needs to stay down in the forward line i think. He is at least dangerous down there.

Exactly why people should boycott pay tv, so we can keep the good stuff on free to air.

If you lived in Queensland you wouldn't be saying that.

Channel 7 is showing the game at 11:30pm here.
