Well there is an argument that Hird is too much of a "nice guy", akin to Knights. He was a star on the field and has an excellent football brain but whether that transpires into coaching ability is a different story. Next year will be the better barometer for him..

They still don't work both ways hard enough, which is very similar to last their 2009 final.

Certainly being let down by their defensive efforts, pretty obvious when Carltons small forwards are getting goals that there is a severe lack of defensive pressure.

But is also a personel issue, bombers just dont have the midfeild to compete with the blues out of the centre.

What did Knights ever know about success? It was a mistake to sign and re-sign him. Being captain of Richmond does not constitute success.
