We knew for 2 months that whoever came 8th would limp in. For a while it's been clear there was only 7 teams worthy of finals footy. Can't say the result was unexpected but I would have thought Essendon would have dug deeper for such a big rivalry game infront of 90k.

In just about every WCE thread by just about every Carlton supporter, boasting that Carl are fancies at Subi because they play better at Subi than at Etihad.

Carlton are a much better side than Essendon, which shows today. I mean they only just scraped into the 8 after all.

WCE at home though? Be afraid....be very afraid.
