I read it as a 2nd rounder for both. Either way, it would definitely be a no. Hurley is worth a decent first round pick.

Agree. No way Hurley is worth a second rounder, definite first rounder or decent player + early second rounder.
Bulldogs would be interested in Hurley & Gumby for sure.

Would trade Jamar + 2nd rounder to GWS for pick 10 (overs, but they can afford to pay it), then send 10 to Essendon for Bellchambers plus a 1st/2nd rounder (depending on ladder position) - and boom.

GWS need to reduce their list size this year, unless they're getting a potential A grader they wont want players - and sure as hell not Jamar.

They've targeted Jamar for the last two years actually.

They've gone at him a few times haven't they???

Driving their value down is that none of them seem to perform consistently. For all the potential essendon supporters claim Hurley has, he hasn't done much since his first season or two.
Also, you need to consider that Gumbleton and Pears aren' far off being free agents. With Franklin likely to be compensated with a pick 20 odd this year, who is a performed KPP and far superior to all of these essendon pretenders, their value resides around the second to third round pick range.

Bellchambers - 1st rounder or a very good player
Gumbleton - 2nd rounder
Pears - We would be very lucky to get a 3rd round pick

I would hope the others would be off the table.

We went at Bate two years in a row - we didn't touch him when he was free.

Yep - on this year's form I expect they'll reconsider, especially given the list constraints they're under.

Fair call, but in all honesty Jamar has been brilliant in the actual ruck contest - it's just around the ground he's struggled.

I think GWS would recognize that IF they were interested - as would most clubs

The only ones you would think would leave would be the ones struggling to get games, which would be Pears, and maybe Gumbleton.

Hurley and Carlisle would be untouchable and they'd be stupid to trade Bellchambers considering this is probably Hille's last year.

I seriously doubt we'd let Bellchambers leave for anything less than somewhere in the 8-12 pick range. Considering Hickey went for 12 from memory, T-Bell has certainly shown A LOT more.
You can't just pick the most favourable trade comparison to suit your cause. Mumford went for pick 28, Griffin went for pick 61, Maric went for pick 37. Brodie Grundy went at 18 in the draft. St Kilda also got 2x 10 spot pick upgrades in the Tom Hickey deal.

He would want to get out of the twos and start playing in the seniors if you want a top 10 pick. He has been disappointing this year.

Those players had shown next to nothing at their previous clubs before being traded for, they were traded for because they were relatively young and could fill a hole. Mumford was a 2-3 season wonder and Maric a 1 season wonder. Brodie Grundy hasn't even played a senior game yet.

Bellchambers is 22-23 and has already shown that he is an established ruckman who would be a number 1 ruckman at the majority of other clubs. Essendon just have the luxury of having an abundance of quality talls.

Essendon would laugh at anything less than a top 12 pick and even then they would be reluctant.

Can't see Bellchambers being traded in any case but just thought i'd try and make a point about his value.

It's definitely Hille's last year. The thoughts are that he had to be coaxed into playing this year.

The one that I think clubs should be into is Pears. He's actually come in and played 3 really good games at AFL level this year, the problem is he's behind fletcher, hooker and Carlisle. If we were to have a LTI to one of those three I'd be willing to wager that we'd be thinking of Pears as worth a much higher pick, just hasn't had the chance to consistently do it in the seniors. His VFL form has also been fantastic, named in the bests 6/7 times I think.

He's one that actually has solid currency, but we can afford to lose. Can't afford to let TBC go and Gumby hasn't quite proved his worth as of yet, but I think has shown that he's over the chronic back/hammie stuff.

A deal between Hawthorn, giants and essendon

Bombers receive: Savage (Haw outside mid), and Miles (Gws inside mid)
Gws receive : Bellchambers (Ess), Lowdon (Haw ruck)
Hawks receive : Aylett (Gws mid), Sumner (Gws outside mid) and 3rd round pick (Ess)

Thoughts???

Yuck! Absolutely ridiculous trade, No 3 way deals, I hate them with a passion. If we are to trade Bellchambers, it will be a top 15 pick (probably closer to top 10) on its own. That is it. We are not going to be happy to get 2 spuds just because you want a 3 way trade. Not happening.

Need more going our way I would have thought. Savage doesn't hold much currency at the moment because he's not playing, same with Miles. If we were giving up Belch and a 3rd round pick in a 3 way deal with those two clubs i'd want something like this from our point of view

Bombers receive: Savage (Haw outside mid), GWS mid round 1 compo pick, Ceglar/Grimley (Hawthorn Tall)
Gws receive : Bellchambers (Ess), Hardingham (Ess Def)
Hawks receive : Aylett (Gws mid), Sumner (Gws outside mid) and 4th round pick (Ess)

I'd take that but I would only give you ceglar

GWS wouldn't go for that deal. Giving up pick 10 or so, a 19 year old taken with pick 10 and a talented young 21 year old is way too much for Bellchambers and Hardingham.

Would have thought Aylett is on the way out personally. Sumner yeah i guess but what if he wants to go? (Without knowing his contract status.)

Yeah, with the mids they have Aylett will likely be cut but I think they'd be more likely to offer their 2nd round pick and one of their fringe mids like Aylett for Bellchambers.

GWS need to reduce their list size this year, no, it remains at 50 !

wouldn't take that personally. If we're looking at fringe midfielders then the only one I'd take in conjunction with a pick 20ish is Will Hoskin-Elliott.

Talls command a huge premium at the trade table, Bellchambers would be no different. I want to keep him, but i'd be looking at a pick between like 7-15, or a very good young mid in this hypothetical situation
