I see Chris Connelly rated richo the 3rd worst coach in the league on Sen this morning.

Of course, he also referred to him as Richison and also talked about us not having enough support for Jack StevenS and the injuries to McCartney. So I'm not sure I'll give his opinion too much weight

He also didn't rate Clarko or Longmire very highly, and gave Goodwin all the credit for the development of young players, without mentioning Paul Roo's role, so yeah... didn't come across very credible.

Well, if Chris Connelly said it we should believe him, because well, you know, he was such a successful coach....o_O

I expected finals - however I expected big years from Steven , Armitage , Hickey and Macartin and it didn't happen , so the coach's are hoping the others step up and it has shown up a few gems - Billings , Sinclair , Webster , Steele , Stevens with our back line proving strong
It's quite deflating when you look at those names.....

I also expected better years from Hickey......Mav(WOW)......Stuv(still reckon he's carrying something from that punctured lung)......Membrey(hoping he would kick more against top 8 sides) and Paddy(well documented) and as you say...it hasn't happened.

Was hoping we'd see a lot more of Goddard but he appears to have stepped under the same ladder as Paddy.

But as you say....several have stood up at times..

I thought this year was a "at the cross roads year" after the stellar rise the previous 2 years.

Were we good enough to keep going?

At this point no but I'm confident we will.

Yes agree. Who on here actually really knows where we are in our rebuild? I think this preseason article for the most part sums up things pretty well.
A well thought out article..........was a good read.

Several things mentioned were the reason I wasn't getting over excited about this year.

Gee...he's bullish about us in 2018....hope he's right....I'll be first to shout the drinks.

I was dismayed regarding the years they have been here, I think that we really need some new blood, especially someone like Hodge.
I must admit I was a little shocked after reading the post listing the tenures of everyone.

I'm no expert, but maybe there's something to this.

Pre season I thought Hardwick was an absolute dead duck after last years disaster.

Tiger supporters were baying for his blood....reckon their a lot quieter now.

When they cleaned out all of the assistant coaches,I thought.."yeah right...that'll do a lot of good"

Ummmmm

watch a replay of the 09 GF....

on second thoughts, don't.
Absolutely don't watch it.........In Dave Missons book...he said the coaching box that day were stunned that Schnieds was missing shots that he would normally kick if he was blindfolded.

I was the one who rang up. Chris's analysis was not that good. Went from rating Richo in "poor" to rating him "fair" within a minute of my stating that saints went 9 wins at the end of round 18 in 2016 and still 9 wins at r18, 2017 with %age going from 83 to 96.

I feel bad that I didn't defend Richo enough. I think he's set the team up for a win vs Port really well.

I heard your call. It was very good. Put him right back in his box :thumbsu:

Chris Connolly is entitled to an opinion like all media personalities. Be interested as to how he come to those conclusions?

Either way even the most avid supporter would have to be concerned about how we continue to lose against some opposition. Richo is in charge of this and it has to improve I dont care how the club does it but it needs change!

I want Albert Richison gone.

Nah... only you. The rest of us are cool.

So the two drubbings in the last two games were part of the grand master plan to beat Port?

Masterful strategy.

Read my sense of perspective thread.

Sydney - went from absolute hidings from sydney to a ok loss. Went from 140 point hiding from hawthorn to 75 point win.

The Essendon loss was preceded by a 10 goal belting of Richmond.

Takes some turning around to take a wooden spoon side!

I saw his coaching career, I don't think he should judge anyone else.

The Sydney game was not an ok loss. They should have won by 15 goals. We were never in it. Was a white wash from the first minute.
The scoreboard flattered us.

Also you are cherry picking results.
2016 we beat the Dees by 36. 2017 we lose by 30.
2016 we beat Dogs by 15. 2017 we lose by 40.

So your 'perspective' is really quite bias.

So who the hell are we going to get as a new forward coach? We desperately need someone who is going to be able to coach the players to their own abilities and make them work together properly.
