Masi was quite poor last year, even before the final race.
What is odd though is the end of this report. VAR in F1 ?

Not saying he was great, but not everyone is perfect. Even Charlie Whiting had his bad moments.
Most of the decisions that he seems to be lumped with are not his, like stewards

He proved inconsistent and that was his downfall. In other news, rumour has it Alpine's Renault engine is a step backwards for 2022.

Its hardly surprising that Masi has been removed as race director, but I find it curious that all the recent articles either gloss over how inappropriate the conduct of the team principles/managers were in the situation or only focus on one of the last things that Wheatley said to him during the Abu Dhabi debacle. Everything Toto did just got laughed off because of how meme-worthy him screaming "No Michael, no!" was

i know it's not a popular view but i reckon he balls-up the final race.
They did say something about someone talking to him from redbull than he decided to start the race.

Both the teams were in his ear from the time Latifi crashed until the end of the race.
Also can't forget that with the crash (Kimi from memory?) earlier during the race, Toto was in his ear pleading for their not to be a safety car......

Found this odd. It doesn't address the problem (Team Directors complaining to the race director for every incident), just means it won't be broadcast
