Player Watch Father-Son Pick #25 (2019) - Jackson Mead

Sorry but he will never be more than what he is now which isn’t AFL standard. Wouldn’t get listed with another club.

Perryman is after midfield minutes, this is where he’s getting them.

Mead should be playing reserves and until he’s a consistent dominant mid at that level shouldn’t be getting a look at the 1s.

Everyone writing him off, he is a midfielder being played out of position. We have 6 mids to be rotating through the centre 2025.

Burgoyne-Lorenz-Jackson-Perryman - Wing/Bench

If we get stuck with Ken next year, trade. Unfortunately under Ken we won't see any change from him.

If we get Carr, definitely keep Mead around for a year or two. See how he performs under a new gameplan / postiion.

Overall, I’m not disappointed Mead was gifted a full year of games; he’s a young player we took early. Better to let him sink or swim than never give him a chance. SANFL is his level for now and will provide some experienced depth if we need, but unless there’s some serious improvement, he shouldn’t be a regular next year.

At present he’s a second string midfielder who’s not capable of playing in any other position.

I certainly wouldn’t delist him, & like others have said he might benefit from playing under a better system.
