Fevola to Brisbane MERGED THREADS

There better be more than that to justify this decision. Everyone knows Fev is out of control when drunk. Voss has decided to manage the problem. We could have, but decided not to. Geelong and even Collingwood suspended their players for extended periods of time, and the players involved benefited. We never even considered that path and that's why this decision is so bad. :)

You are selectively picking your issues......of which there are multiple......any one issue taken in isolation and you probably would think we could go down a different path.......taken together the collective evidence is the club is making the right decision :).

Lions tour Visy Park 08-10-2009 1:34 PM By Jacqui Reed SEN | TRADE UPDATE: Carlton officials have taken Brisbane duo Daniel Bradshaw and Michael Rischitelli on a tour of Visy Park, after they arrived in Melbourne just over two hours ago.

Coach Brett Ratten was among the guides, as well as the club's new recruit, Brock McLean.

It is clear the Blues are keen to convince both players to agree on a trade to the club, in exchange for troubled full-forward Brendan Fevola.

The decision to trade Fevola has polarized their fan base, with protesters at the club over the weekend.

But even so, the Blues appear to be happy with the Lions'offer, and is keen to get the approval from the players so the deal can go through.

Fevola is believed to have agreed to the trade, along with Bradshaw, while Rischitelli remains unsure of the move.

Should the players agree, they will today undergo a medical examination before both clubs sign on the dotted line.

I have to say, under the cirumstances, this trade was about as good as we were going to get, Bradshaw can fill the void for a couple of years at FF, with the Irish man at CHF (Cloke will be delisted hopefully to free up another spot on the list) and Rischitelli is a very good and quality young player, one of the best at Brisbane.

I am gutted and upset Fev is leaving, but I'm sure as shit glad we got a much better deal then anything Sydney or Collingwood would have thrown at us ..

And we get extra cap space next year as well to go after Roughead ...
I feel the club has made the best out of a horrible situation, and well done to Icke and Swann.
And Fev, thanks for the memories, and all the best up there in Brisbane ..
A change of state will hopefully do him the world of good.

Hey CP, have you got yourself a new doctor?

I told you

But in blocking us out of negotiations you never really got to see what we were prepared to give up. Fevola nominated Collingwood as his club of choice, yet Swann said a trade between the clubs wouldn't happen unless we met your demands and then some, which effectively was the end of Fevola to Collingwood.

I'm not sure we wouldn't have been able to provide you 2 better options.

Eddie knew too much about what really happened on Brownlow night - since he was a confidante of Fev's - to ever offer anything worthwhile. We were just deflecting

Update from the CFC website ............

http://www.carltonfc.com.au/newsarticle/tabid/4311/newsid/85871/default.aspx

Daniel Bradshaw and Michael Rischitelli, the two Brisbane players linked in a possible trade with Carlton in exchange for Brendan Fevola, flew to Melbourne today to meet with Carlton officials.

They met with Carlton hierarchy including Coach Brett Ratten, a number of the Assistant Coaches and members of the Football Department before having a tour of the redevelopment currently under construction at Visy Park. Carlton players Jarrad Waite and Kade Simpson also met with Bradshaw and Rischitelli along with new Carlton recruit Brock McLean (who played junior football with Rischitelli at Keilor).

Brett Ratten said it was important to meet the players to discuss the plans going forward.

“It was a good opportunity to meet the two players and for them to have a look at the facilities as well as meet some of the people here at Carlton. They were both impressed with the new facilities, and who wouldn’t be. We will continue our discussions with Daniel and Michael and will advise our members and supporters on Friday when we will have more news.”

The reason Brisbane has been an attractive destination from Carlton's perspective is also geographical.

They don't want him at another Melbourne club because it still means he's able to keep in regular contact with our players.

In Brisbane this won't happen.
