Yup - No denying Fev's an idiot. However its a 4 year deal for an idiot FF that has averaged close to 80goals/yr over the past 4 seasons+with no real injury clouds.
Despite his idiocy, it wouldnt be beyond the realms possibility that Fev could average 70goals/season over the next 4 years (80, 80, 60, 60)
Just curious - how many years did carey get from adelaide? (I cant recall if its 2 or 3)

Surely Carlton had a clause allowing them to cancel his contract if he played up again, surely!
This would mean they can arrange a trade, cancel his contract and then the new team will pay him whatever Fev will accept.

I'll believe they're genuine about moving him on when the papers are signed. It just looks like they're trying to give him a scare at this point.

Bad news for the Blues as next he was due to half his salary taken care of under the veterans list. For this reason I think there is no way we'll be footing too much of his salary (certainly not $350K) should the other party not want to pay it in full.
Who knows. Perhaps this a ploy to be seen to have done something with the door left open should we not get a deal we genuinely like. Should placate the media and give a wake up to Fev that he's not worth as much as he thinks.

i tend to agree with this.
his name will be out there at trade week but unless a big fish lands in carltons lap then he'll probably stay.

Probably just MM and pick 16 would be enough. Any suggestion of a deal involving Ball will not happen.
