Re: So who wants Fev?

I wouldn't mind having Fev at the swans BUT I want to see Jessie White develop into a key forward, we need to look towards the future rather than picking up a very good forward who may only have 3 years left in him. Swans won't be up there for at least another 3-4 years so in all honestly it's a waste of time and money.

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

i wouldn't think that everitt should get traded for anything other than a first round pick. i will be very disapointed if bulldogs trade him for a 2nd round!

Re: 4 way fev deal

theres about 61 players being traded in the deal.

Maybe a deal like this could be pulled off in Monopoly.

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

Carlton won't trade fevola. If they lose fev they will lose any chance at a premiership for at least 3 or 4 years. AFL Football is a business it is all about making money by winning grand finals and increasing membership base. AFL is not about making people happy it is about making money.

Um........ and keeping players has got the Tigers business a lot closer to living that dream hasn't it?....

Re: 4 way fev deal

Am I to believe what I am reading. There are people on here suggesting freo would be getting ripped off by getting Wellingham for Tarrant. Is this the same Tarrant that 6 months ago everyone thought was playing his last season. The same Tarrant that has been considered by many one of the most overated players of all time.
Wellingham has just turned 21. He was considered in the best 22(as selected in the last 2 finals) and average 18 possesions. He was good on 1 final and poor in another and he will improve. Based on what I saw of Freo he is better than atleast half there list and they have major midfield issues.
Tarrant is 29 will probably play 2 or a max of 3 seasons. Freo will be lucky to play finals in the period so if they can get anything at all for him that may(i say may because I am not biased or stupid enough to suggest he is a future star) improve an area where they. If they expect a gauranteed good long term player or high draft pick for taz they are dreaming.
If tarrant does get traded I would be supprised it its anything more than pick 30. I am very confident that wellingham will have more have a career than about 75% of the players taken after pick 30.
As for Fev any carlton supporter who thinks clubs would give up a top 5 draft pick or a young superstar are deluded. There is a massive amount of risk with fev. He is not young is starting to battle a few injuries and has a sh!t attitude.

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

Carlton football club wont give away their best plays no matter how bad the act out in public. He will stay a Blue. Just a media beat up

Correct. Fev must stay if Carlton are a chance for a flag over the next few years.

Although Carlton are taking a stance on behaviour, the rules are different for studs and duds.

Re: 4 way fev deal

What you have suggested is not enough to get Fevola over the line. You can't give 2 fringe players and a late first rounder for the COleman medallist...regardless of his misdemeanours.

Plus, if Fev is on the market, there will be a lot of interested buyers with better picks.

I think Dawes would have to be in there somewhere but.

are there really? please name them?

I am not sure people are thinking clearly about the fev trade. He is a gun full forawrd and coleman medalist lets go get him. Sorry but thats not how footy works. Fev is 28 and will be 29 next year. He is a big kpp and most of them are washed up by 30 to 31. That means he has probably 2 good years left and 3 if he is lucky. Therefore the only clubs likely to be interested are the sides who can win a flag in the next 3 years which in my opinion it Geelong(pick 17) st kilda(pick 16) bulldogs(pick 15) pies(14) crows(13) maybe brisbane(12) hawks(9) and carlton but of course he is already there. The only club outside of those who I could see may be interest is the swans because they need to stay competative. The hawks wont touch him because they have 2 big key forward and wont fit him in the cap. The crows could trump us with pick 13 and walker but I dont think that would be smart by the crows I reckon it would be paying over the odds.

Personally I doubt he will go anywhere because I dont think the blues will get what they are after for him for the above reasons. Hence why I would not offer him anymore than what I put on this thread.

Re: Fev may be headed to Sydney according to Caro

this is all kind of pointless as i doubt fev is going anywhere. But i think the best carlton could hope to get from sydney would be Rok and a draft pick ... not pick 6.

Probably the 2 players that Sydney would consider would be jolly or rok.

White, Johnston, Vezpremi would be the 3 that carlton would probably want. But i would be livid if we gave up any of these guys ... especially White. It just seems like it would be a bit of a pointless trade as opposed to ROK or Jolly who are likely to only play a similar amount of games.

In the end, Carlton arent going to be satisfied with ROK or Jolly i dont think ... and i think Sydney would baulk if a draft pick was required as well.

So he wont be going to sydney

Mark Robinson has confirmed today that he is 100% certain that Everitt will be going to the Blues.

He also confirmed that the O'Keefe + 2nd round for Fev deal is in the winds.

Which leaves my initial thread f'n spot on for what was being said within the club last night, to all of you out there who doubted my knowledge on this matter!

I don't doubt you PooMonkey. I think you have credible inside senior sources and they let you in on all inner sanctum going-ons.

Your name is probably just to throw people off the track about who you are. You are probably far more mature than PooMonkey the name.

PooMonkey is clever.

I think PooMonkey is F'n spot on.

Good stuff.:)

I'm glad you took the humour in the manner it was intended.:thumbsu:

Some people get all snarky sometimes.

Bring on Trade Week............:thumbsu:

Re: Fev may be headed to Sydney according to Caro

might just grab some of that 80-1 that the bookies have offered for the swans to win the flag in 2010.
with lake at fullback , lovett in the midfield , seaby back up ruck to jolly and fevola at full forward and the class draft pick that the dogs give us for Hall , we will surely win the flag

I will offer you 1000-1 odds for a Swans flag next year?

How many grand are you going to put on...:):thumbsu:

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

didnt ROK sign a 4 year deal last year u tools! lol

He signed a 3 year deal but that means nothing except that he cant leave for nothing via the draft!

There are a number of players who leave clubs while contracted, the only difference being is that the nominated club who take up the traded player must honor the existing contract terms as far as payment goes, or part thereof with the balance being payed by the club the player is leaving.

I know this will be difficult for you to understand being a collingwood supported and you dont seem to be able to trade for any players of substance where this would come into affect, and your small peanut size brain may also have trouble distinguishing any word's written that have more than two syllables in them.

But good luck to you.......

I know the name of a good dentist should you need it (we all know you do)!:thumbsu:

Really off topic, but you should get some idea on how odds work.

Re: Fevola to become a Swan - ROK and Everitt to become Blues!

The Sydney deal will fall over.Carlton need a first round pick and developing young forward. Roos has already said no way to the first pick so it will not happen.

The only teams that will benifit from picking up Fev would be Dogs Adelaide and i hate to say it Collingwood

Dogs have already committed to Hall.

Adelaid would have to retire some players to get him under the cap. They could offer pick 13 and Walker or Sellar. Could be compensation if Adelaid lose Tippet to the GC

Collingwood, hate to say it, could offer pick 14 and Reid/ Dawes/ Brown

Re: So who wants Fev?

As a player, I would love him at Tigerland. We lack a FF and he would be a great addition to our squad but he there are a few reasons why it would never happen.

1. Attitude - enough said.

2. Age - 28 is by no means old but it is obviously not the direction the club is looking. Personally, age isn't an issue yet I'm sure it is for the people who matter.

3. Ben Cousins - We already have cuzzy, a gamble that has paid off. I can't see us taking another gamble of that stature.

Honestly I think it is highly unlikely Fev will be traded. Carlton will be taking a 2-3 year + step backwards by offloading him.

Yet if you suspend Betts, Gartlett and Cloke for a week for being 15 mins late to recovery and only fine Fev a slither of his massive pay cheque for a far greater misdemeanor, what example is that setting in terms of culture and expectations at Carlton?

If Fev does find himself on the trade table, for the price being asked a deal will be difficult to strike. Perhaps by just putting him out there it will be a kick up the a** for him.

But in terms of clubs who may make a play:
(Purely my own opinion, not claiming that I have inside info or anything)

Adelaide - nope
Brisbane - nope
Collingwood - need midfielders more

Essendon - Lloyd and Lucas gone in one year, Gumbleton yet to prove anything they could make a play involving Lovett.

Fremantle - nope, focusing on youth although if they must strike a deal for Tarrant getting Fev wouldn't hurt. Ryan Murphy is a developing forward on the outer at Freo Oval who could move home to Vic in the trade week and IMO can cut it as an AFL player still.

Geelong - nope
Hawthorn - nope
Melbourne - nope

North Melbourne - Interesting one.. Gibson wants out, Hale could be going and both these players potentially could have roles at Carlton.. If Hale came in, Kruezer could be freed to play forward and Warnock, Hampson and Hale could be the primary ruckmen.

Port Adelaide - Another interesting one. PA have key forwards developing but with Burgoyne wanting a trade (I know he has nominated Hawthorn) it's a quality player on the table. Would be very unlikely I would imagine although it's a tight group at Alberton and Williams would do a good job with Fev IMO.

Richmond - As mentioned above.

St Kilda - nope

Sydney - Another club who's struggling for a FF but would they give up White for Fev as that is undoubtedly a question Carlton will ask. Getting out of Vic would help Fev and Roos steers a tight ship. Maybe Ryan O'Keefe might get that trade home he so desperately wanted 12 months ago.. but do Sydney want to trade their B&F??

West Coast - nope, they have the man Carlton didnt want in Kennedy shaping up as an exciting prospect. There has been a rumour or two saying McKinley wants out though but I think with JK, Wilson, Le Cras all up front a small forward/crumber is more on the mark for WC.

Bulldogs - always in the market for a FF, Blues want Everitt and the Dogs are in a position where a FF could get them to a flag and they have shown an eagerness for Hall so obviously age/attitude not an issue. Salary cap is the big big issue here.. Doggies would struggle to fit him in.
