I have a ticket on level 1 Bay M33 behind the goals at the Ponford Stand end. Looking to swap for a ticket at the other end of the ground, as my best mate has a ticket in M9 and want to be close to that area. Prefer level 1 if possible.

The game is a declared event under the relevant Victorian legislation and therefore scalping of grand final tickets is a crime under Victorian law (unless you're an authorised AFL reseller, in which case you can go nuts).

I have been fortunate enough to get access to 2 seats through a friend (in which I paid face value for), but I already had 2 standing tickets from the ballot.

There are a couple of Hawks supporters at work who were gutted to miss out and never been to a GF before, I sold them my 2 standing tickets at face value.

I saw on ebay people selling standing tickets for $500+

If the AFL are truly serious about tackling this scalping problem, they need to open the GF up to the fans. Allow the true fans who brave the weather each week, travel interstate to watch their side have an opportunity to purchase a ticket legitimately!!

Couldn't agree more. I'm from Perth and to event have a chance at getting tickets, I have to get the right level of membership which is difficult to justify given the Hawks play at most 2 games per year at most in Perth. This year they played once! I would rather fork out for the GF and bring my kids as well and make a holiday of it.

Long story short, my 3rd baby is 5 days overdue, and tonight looks like it could be the night, but as with all things, could drag in to tomorrow. So I have 1 ticket (Q5, Row G, Silver Seat @ 300) that I may be looking to sell tomorrow. Given the short timeframe, and the fact that I may be in hospital, and the ticket is with my brother, trying to organise something with someone would be hellish, is it illegal to sell the ticket at face value at the ground ?

I suggest your best bet is to not sell at the ground. Arrange a private sale before hand. Arrange one here with the express understanding that the ticket might not be available at all. Swap phone numbers etc now and just confirm if the baby has bad timing.

I recommend turning up with a 'ticket wanted' sign and staying in the one spot, asking any hawk going past if they know of a ticket going. You'd be surprise what happens on the morning of the GF.
Might sound like you will look silly but when hodgey holds up the cup you will only be feeling joy, and you do want to be there.

If you haven't got a ticket with 10 mins to go charge the gate, I am serious. You want to be there. Get the first person to distract the gate attendant and slip on through. If not, double back and charge the gate.
