"and goes BANG". footy commentary actually sounds exactly how you'd expect british comedys of 20 years ago to send us up. big fat clowns having a good time ignorant of their own idiocy

Every time a kicking in danger free is paid, you hear "kicking in danger, you don't see that paid often", yet I swear it happens at least once a week, if not more. Often enough for me.

Not a saying as such but I can't stand it when broadcasters bring up sides next four games and tell us which of those games they should win and lose. The whole concept of discussing 'winnable games' especially when looking weeks ahead is largely irrelevant when you consider the variables, eg how quickly form can change, players can get injured/suspended, weather conditions, and the fact than even the weaker sides are perfectly competent on their day. Too much emphasis on looking weeks ahead and not enough on the here and now.

* "sets sail for home"
* "a three goal breeze" - how do measure wind speed in ****ing goals?
* nobody is angry, pissed off, sad or upset anymore. They are all "disappointed".
