Clubs aren’t stupid, well at least not as much as we fans think. They will have good reasoning behind the move to get Rory.

Might have said this before, but the President should quietly convey to JLo the club's expectation that he find a new manager. He should. And...he should be livid. This highfalutin hangdog ding-dork has meddled with the club and its players and got in their heads so he can have a nice cushdy payday numerous times (doing sweet FA for his money..). Man's a venomous skank and cost us a player that we really probably needed at least one more season whilst others transition - Amiss, Treacy etc. As much as I dislike Lobb, even pre-trade, he was a valuable asset last year - no one can deny that.
It's done now, so we build a bridge...etc, but Young needs to be weeded out and chucked in the trash. Scum nuggets

Who brings in more money for Young.. that’s why the loyalty liesSo Rory Lobb (Colin Young client) is criticizing Justin Longmuir’s coaching abilities (also a Colin Young client)
You can’t make this s**t up.

Some talk a few weeks ago he was playing and coaching in the WAFL.Sorry if already mentioned but is there any news on what Mundy is doing? Is he not coming back to the club to take Joel Corey’s old roll ?
Pretty sure brady grey has taken that development coach roleSorry if already mentioned but is there any news on what Mundy is doing? Is he not coming back to the club to take Joel Corey’s old roll ?

They interviewed JL and he said he would miss Mundy and his presence - like another coach but said he wasn’t sure what he was up to and wanted to give him some space.
We have lost a few ex players - Sandi, Josh Carr and Mundy.
Maybe his new role will be to check the lunch rolls are up to standard.Mundy is very particular about the freshness of his rolls.
Neale is the only one of those that burns imo. Seemed to be purple through and through before whatever shit went down. The two players we got for him are now at other clubs. Take away that loss and it's a net win.Top 10 best at each club for 2022 features 6 ex-Purple Players: Neale, Cerra, Collins, Hogan, Langdon and Hill.

1. Are we top of the league for losing good players?
2. Of the six I feel like we got unders for losing all but Hill - we had a massive win with Hill. What do others think?
In addition, in 2022 we lost 2 of our top 10 - Logue and Lobb. Are we still perpetuating a lousy tradition?
Who cares. Players leave, players come in. This year, I greatly prefer the players who have come in.Top 10 best at each club for 2022 features 6 ex-Purple Players: Neale, Cerra, Collins, Hogan, Langdon and Hill.

The trade for Neale was more than adequate. On points value it was one of the highest value trades. What happened after the trade is a different matter but that doesn’t reflect the trade value.Top 10 best at each club for 2022 features 6 ex-Purple Players: Neale, Cerra, Collins, Hogan, Langdon and Hill.

Who cares? If we want the club to do well then it's a worthwhile question. Like clangers, losing established players is not something we want to top the comp in.Who cares. Players leave, players come in. This year, I greatly prefer the players who have come in.
Thx Superkoops, I broadly agree with every line except Collins, I think he was showing more. The trade for Neale was more than adequate. On points value it was one of the highest value trades. What happened after the trade is a different matter but that doesn’t reflect the trade value.
Neale > for effectively pick 6 and 19 (other picks swapped out). Freo got good value trade.
Weller > for effectively pick 2 (other later picks swapped out). Freo got good value trade.
Langdon > early second round. Out of contract and not much we could do. I felt he was worth late 1st. Melbourne got good trade value.
Logue > early second round. Out of contract and NM had first PSD pick. I felt he was worth late 1st. NM got good trade value.
BHill > for effectively pick 10 and second round pick, Acres (other pick swaps inc.). Freo got good trade value.
Cerra > pick 6 and F3. Fair trade value as he was out of contract.
Collins delisted and in my opinion based on what I saw of that last season was line ball for a contract being out of contract. Good for him he went back to VFL worked on his game (particularly footskills) and fitness. He still has limitations but has forged out a good career. Not relevant to trade discussion.
Hogan > mid third round pick (used on academy player Brandon Walker). The club needed the pick for Walker and wanted Hogan and his contract gone. The whole Hogan trade was a disaster we don’t need to go over that.
Lobb > two second round picks . One used to trade in JOM. Fair compensation. Considering we traded him in for effectively a late second round draft pick value and got 4 years from him filling position of needs main ruck early doors whilst Darcy was injured and developing and then KPF.
Players come and go. I agree that we have had too many players leave.
In a different universe not trading in Hogan and keeping Langdon and Logue would have been best but we have bought in some handy players ourselves with second round value trades (Clark, Lobb, BHill, Wilson, Hamling, JOM, Aish).

I particularly agree that we have brought in handy players.
Still, if we top the league in handy players leaving, is there something worthwhile to know that we still haven't put our finger on?
Don’t get me wrong Collins was a solid player with Freo. If we could have seen the future and the injuries that Hamling and APearce suffered then I’m sure Collins would have been kept on.Thx Superkoops, I broadly agree with every line except Collins, I think he was showing more.

Probably partly an interstate problem. Going back to Melbourne is easier then going back to the West because there are a lot more clubs to be interested.Still, if we top the league in handy players leaving, is there something worthwhile to know that we still haven't put our finger on?
Thx for the replies Scham, Superkoops and Schauermann. All valid points. I particularly agree with the 'sustained success' angle. Away from the East and, unfortunately but quite rightly in the Eagles' shadow, I think we lack some X factor, glamour, whatever you might call it. We now seem to be on the verge of sustained success that we were oh-so-close to in the RTB era but fell short of. It was always going to take along time to emerge from the Eagles' shadow and just maybe the next five years will be our time. This will help with player retention. We also seem to have outstanding characters in our young brigade who are committed and value the club. No doubt this will help too.Probably partly an interstate problem. Did she even get a game? Can't remember her being named at all.Duffy got delisted from Dees, not overly surprised, game is getting more professional each year
