Decent debut from Logue - that'll give North fans a good insight into what to expect.

A couple of solid marks/one-on-one wins and overall a good defensive performance but a few rubbish turnovers/instances where he flew into a contest and was completely ineffective.

Interesting to see how he pairs up with McKay when he gets back.

That's the one gripe with him. Goes flying in for no regard. Pretty dumb how he does it. Causes the ball the spill just in front of the pack

Logue is a stupid footballer. There’s always a few like Suban was who go harder than a cats head but their timing is so bad they often have a net negative result on contests.
Apart from the excellent shutdown jobs he did on Curnow & Cameron (no mean feats), our backline worked more cohesive as a group without him because he doesn’t have good game sense.
Say what you like about Walker, the system always works better with him there because he knows how to play his role.

Round 1 only but I told yas all the ones we'll regret losing the most Logue and Meek - they're the only two on the up, we've already seen peak Acres and Lobb

Here’s a proposition. We won’t regret losing any of them. Logue and Meek wouldn‘t be playing R1 and already sulking at Peel. Acres and Lobb might have played tomorrow but, if they had, would have held back our development as a side.

Meanwhile, sit back and enjoy Jackson and O’Meara, Fyfe up forward and the development of Liam Henry, none of which might have been possible if the above blokes had stayed (reluctantly) at the club.

I think Logue would have played over Hughes. But even if not, we'll regret losing Meek and Logue if either one of our 2 choice ruck or two choice KPD goes down in the season.
JLo has already said they're the two he regrets not selling to them a narrative that they have a future at the club, so I am not exactly out on a limb here

No I don't think so. The club sees Hughes as a pure wing now. He was training there all season. He was introduced with the mids at the season launch. Logue wouldn't have been chosen over Hughes unless he turned into a winger too.

The coach is being too hard on himself, as well as avoiding badmouthing people unnecessarily. As 3rd in line, Meek had to go for more opportunity. Logue was similar, although it was a combination of job security and better remuneration in his case.

And of we had kept all those guys we wouldn't have had as much spare salary cap for guys like Serong

We're all entitled to our opinion, but I can't see a planet where Hughes is preferred to Logue. If we entered the preseason with Logue on the list, we would have worked out a way to play him because we would have eased someone else onto the wing. How many games was Hughes selected over Logue last year?
I do agree that if we get the pick right, Hughes plus an early 2024 second rounder net may end up as good or better than Logue

Or treacy getting a game

Logue was decent. He made Oscar Allen look very slow and **** for most of the game. He'll look a lot better with McKay in the team.

Other two won't be popular with their new supporters.
