Something's changed. You don't go from absolute garbage to winning two hard-fought come-from-behind wins overnight

Main thing for mine is we aren't giving away goals through turnovers (though there were a few v Melbourne). Amazing what a bit of clean up around disposal will do

Barometer will be the next 4 games North @ home (given they're without a win - so no massive indicator), West Coast (away derby), Essendon @ home & Richmond @ the G

Who would've thought that after round 2, Fremantle would win the next 2 games and are now in a position where they are a good chance to back up their good form against North next week. Could realistically be 3-2. Credit must go to the Docker's players and coaching staff. Freo's form over the past couple of weeks has been impressive. Will be interesting to see how they fare in the next few weeks.

No need to shit-talk other teams (unless it's Plugger35), fellow Dockers fans. This was an awesome win but I'm very grateful for Lewis being a violent dickhead and Hogan's punch. Gonna miss seeing that Viking Gawn out on the field though

May have gone too early on this one...
Didnt go early. RL finally conceded he was wrong the last 9 years in ignoring young players and sticking by 5-7 absolute hacks every week just because he refused to show faith in youth.
He finally gave in - and look at the results.
He will never ever admit it but he was wrong all these years and the punters & critics were right.

Lyon also didn't have very many games as bad as the first two of the season. And neither did he have the talent knocking on the door as we do now, calm down buddy lol. We are 4 games into a rebuild and already looking great. I thought that was not possible for a Lyon team?

I can't talk about his time at St Kilda but when Lyon signed at Freo it was to win a flag.
And so he played the best available, there weren't many if any who starred these last couple of games who were on Freo's list and playing WAFL for those years we were contending.

He brought in older players to try and win that flag but never sold the farm, those that came in came in cheap, and Freo still hit every draft with a decent spread of picks.

Can't argue that Lyon wasn't conservative. He played best available each week and if you needed to develop you did it in the WAFL still young players got chances and Neale, Sutcliffe, Walters, A.Pearce and others all came into the best 22.

Lyon never sold Freo's future, he had a crack and fell short.
Well short, against a Hawthorn side that was tough to beat.

Of course if Lyon had dropped Dawson for the Grand Final then it wouldn't have been for Hamling, Hughes or Logue.
It would have been for Alex Silvagni, Peter Faulks or Jesse Crichton.

And here we are with a decent spread of young talent and a similar spread of holes in the list after Lyon and Freo (and they really couldn't have been clearer on this) changed gears towards a rebuild and a possible future flag.

I love what I've seen these last two weeks and I'll be furious if there's ever a major step back to older players but still Lyon's biggest issue at Freo has been resisting change for 5 or 10 games with players rather than years and years.

Is it a flaw? maybe, but I'm still not sure these two weeks is any massive about face by Lyon that should have happened seasons ago.

Not convinced Freo have turned the corner, they've only beaten an undermanned Demons outfit & we all know they have a clear mental edge over the Dogs in Perth.
What does this even mean? The same team that won the flag last year from 7th? Yeah, I'm sure they go to water at the mere thought of playing Freo - the team that finished bottom 4 last year.
