I want you to answer this Q seriously:
When it comes down to it, in 2 years would you rather:
A qaulity player who has played 20 games and lookes promosing. (possibly a future star)
OR
Remebering that your club "made a tought stand" and seeing a player taken at 24 or around that run around and looking to be a future player.

Seriously. No-one is gunna remember your tough stand in 4 years.

There is no guarantee that pick 24 will be a good player, infact its probably about a 50/50 chance he'll be a regular player.

If pick 24 was as good as the Blues fans seem to think it is you should jump at an offer of Warnock and pick 21 for pick 6. You get Warnock plus a guarenteed superstar at pick 21

I would prefer Freo trade Warnock to Melb in exchange for upgrading our 2nd, 3rd and 4th rd picks so we get picks before our ugly sisters up the road. We are getting Rich with pick 3 and if not NN. We'd be wrapped with both of those. The upgrades though could help land us a Yarran or Swift before they get their greasy mits on them.
As for Seaby he will never want to come here where he's gonna play 2nd fiddle again.

Hope Carlton don't enter a bidding war - Our offer is there, and I'll gladly see our club step to the back of the cue, and leave it at that. Hopefully this ends the link/trade suggestions with Carlton. You guys will hold out until Friday, knowing you have our pick 24 as a fall back option.

Agreed Gav. The ball is definitely in Carlton's court to find something additional to pick 24 to satisfy our requirements. If they want the deal done quickly, they are going to have to make it worth our while.

It's up to Carlton to decide if they want Warnock or not now. Assuming Harvs doesn't crack first, Carlton are going to have to find a better pick than 24. Melbourne are probably the most likely source, as they have two picks (17 & 19) before Carlton's 24. So, what do Carlton need to give up to get hold of say 17?

If Carlton are seriously wanting Warnock, then I think they need to be talking to Melbourne. How ironic, really.

If it all falls apart at Melb and Freo - we could do worse than to try and entice Brad Green West for Warnock?

I know it is pie in the sky stuff but his dispute with Melb is basically cash ...if we have a chunk of cash - I'd have no issue in giving Green a 3 year deal at a slightly above market rate.

23 disposals, a goal a game and works extremely hard. Not the right age but if all we get offered is pick 24 ...Green is worth that and a little more.

He would be a 3rd ball magnet with Haselby/Palmer ...he takes 7 marks a game (many pushing forward) and would easily be that goal kicking mid we have really never had. At a goal a game he would eclipse any of our midfielders.

Hate to say but basically he would be an upgrade on Peter Bell.

Add Green and say get Rich - we would be pushing for the 8 next season. We would also still have 21 and may get a serviceable pick up with 3 in the PSD?

Looks like we dont need to deal with carlton for pick 24 and nothing but pick 24 because the all mighty carlton has pick 24 and they get their trade done beacuse they are carlton and are offering pick 24

There was always going to be plenty of other clubs willing to try an make trade deals for him.

Unlike Carlton though most other clubs follow the trade rules an leave there dealing or atleast announcement of deals until tradde week starts.
