We let Mundy and Walsh do what they wanted and Carlton's mids got their hands on it plenty. Didn't achieve much but they sure worked hard.

Darcy Tucker needs the ball to get to him slightly faster or be slightly faster to get to the ball. He seems a fraction off the pace all the time.

The exact opposite of Sam Switkowski who could move through traffic like it's stopped
Switta moves like the Flash…

I rewatched the game last night - poor Freddie's game was encapsulated in a 2 minute period in the 3rd.

First Noddy kicked it out of bounds off the side of his boot when Freddie was sitting 20m on his own waiting for the chest mark. Then less than two minutes later Shultz kicks that driving ball inside the 50 that was about to hit Freddie on the chest 10m out straight in front... only for Lobb to come flying in from the side and steal it right in front of him.

He must have been tearing his hair out, but to his credit he never dropped his head and just kept working hard all game.
not to mention in the 2nd term where he got taken high at half back by Wiliams, and then his easy kick is taken away as Acres and Colyer play on and it leads to Darcy's goal

All the talk of Freddie only having two touches... When I rewatched the game, he had closer to 35. A hand in it here, batting the ball out of a contest; a finger tip there, preventing an oppo player from taking a mark. Weird how people think the only way you can substantially contribute to the game is by kicking or handballing.

Agreed. He was defs down on his usual disposal output but according ESPN, he also had two tackles and 21 pressure acts to go with his two disposals. The type of thing that causes turnovers or oppo miskicks from his pressure, etc. As JLo says, he didnt get "a lick of the ice cream" this week but if he keeps doing what he's doing, then goals will come and/or he'll help others to kick the goals. His game wasn't bad, IMO and his 21 pressure acts, helped us win.

There was so many instances watch the replay where his chase and pressure affected the kick led carlton to turn it over

Freddy sits 5th in the squad for pressure acts this season, 8th on average per game. Michael Walters sits in 5th for averages.

Frederick was 5th for the team against Carlton. Only 10% of his pressure acts were in defense, so his pressure forward role is clear.

Forward half pressure acts
Walters - 22
Freddy - 19
Switta - 19
Brayshaw - 18

Pressure act info is hard to find, do you have a link?

A coach I played under had a good saying:

Even if you rack up touches all game you'll still only have possession of the ball for about a minute in total, it's what you can do for the team the other 99 minutes that makes the difference.

What does the main board mean? I'm keen to have a look at the salt coming from the Baggers.

As a rip off of this:

Carlton fans are (for the most part) flogs that have a crazy belief that it is still 1995 and they are guaranteed success.

LaFlogspute hasn't been seen since the loss which is unsurprising.

Much appreciated Yeti . I've since poked around BF outside of the safety of the Freo pages and it's a big scary world out there.

Nice to see some familiar names on those main boards but new concepts like being a Baghdad Veteran and being suspended have brought me scuttling back.

The last time I ventured out was to see what all the DanWA hubub was about and I was very confused this time around to see him commenting in a fairly balanced and sensible way on the Voss thread. Couldn't tell if sincere or sarcastic.

Dan is a slippery fella, he is very very good at appearing like he's being earnest when he's in fact being a knob and knows what he's doing. He gives himself away with what he posts elsewhere

I used to be right off him and blocked him for a long time .
But then once you realise how much of an idiot he is you can have a lot of fun with it .
Very 2 faced
