Hahah, yep. Hence my post on that thread that ruffled a few feathers earlier today. The only thing worse than the tools that post shit like this as gospel, are those who believe every word of it - that didn't go down too well and my laying down of the precedent set was ignored.

Desperation in Harvey's last year (severe midfielder shortage). Ross picking up where Harvey left off, in training him through pre-season as a mid. And then the depth we had in small defenders preventing him from going back into the back line.

Hopefully he gets to slot back into the back line, at least on a flank, next season. But I shan't be holding my breath.

Broughton had a hand injury during the season (they kept reporting his back injury though - that didn't appear too bad though). He was moved forward as it was more difficult to tackle/had more potential to damage it further. When the others came back they sent him off to surgery - that's what I heard anyway. I expect he will return to the backline next year as best 18.

problem with that theory is that he hasnt played defence in two season. last year he was in the midfield, and this year he was as well. he needs to be in defence, not the midfield

He played plenty of defence this season, also started around the half forward line at times, as well as in the guts. He's a utility player and does so effectively, the defence is strong enough for mine at the moment so I'm happy to see Broughton being released to find the ball.

I don't know why so many get so jumpy that they assume we're going to trade every player that played under 15 games. By the looks of things it's just as likely we even retain Jack Anthony in preference to cutting him before his contract ends. Why would we trade Broughton or for that matter Lower?

That's an extremely unrealistic trade.
The most that would net in a trade would be an upgrade to #12, and even then GWS probably wouldn't do it. but then, neither would Freo fans probably either.

At pick 3 we would probably take Toumpas. Unless we upgraded our 2nd pick as well we would probably miss out on a good tall again. So I am not so sure.
