Surely he has genuinely been hacked. If he did do it he is a DH and needs to be stood down immediately. If it is a photo of him (only he and his wife will know) and had it on his phone, he is a DH and should be stood down immediately.

I genuinely feel sorry for him. An awful mistake to make if you are a nobody. But worse when you are a somebody. Best move would have been to send out lots of pics, pr0n, and other detestable rubbish and leave it till the morning. Then everyone would likely buy the "I got hacked" stance. But he panicked and did not think the alibi through too well

Meh, sorry because he was caught. He was stupid. He is married and he is a prominent person ... no risk assessment done here. We don't know if any of this was solicited either. If not requested ... ouch. It's a club sponsor FFS. This could end the sponsorship, just by association with the scandal.
He probably needs to fall on his sword ... err ... maybe not ... just quit.

Because in his personal life he’s the *******, privileged type he comes across as? Being smart and successful doesn’t mean you aren’t a moron behind closed doors. Not to mention the sense of immunity that money and power can cultivate.
Knock yourself out "behind closed doors", but when you are a prominent person, dont have stuff on your phone as it will one day become public either via a hack or through sheer stupidity. I am not naive enough to not think people do kinky stuff, have affairs etc, there are consequences though and people aren't stupid enough to believe BS when presented as such.
It's actually reasonably easy to hack an account on that platform, but to be able to retrieve it so quickly, not so much
