If you'd been on the cans I reckon it'd be simple enough. The DM button is directly under the new tweet button. Attach your weiner pic, tag the name thinking you were choosing who to send it to, and voila! A pre-season scandal Bootsma would be proud of.
Wow, interesting design!

If he was genuinely hacked - i.e. someone had access to his twitter account password - there would likely be a lot more than just a single dick pick sent. And it would likely have stayed on the account longer than it did.

The term 'hacked' gets overused. And often is used as a convenient excuse to cover a user blunder.

It takes time to recover from this, as the hacker has usually changed the password, meaning the owner can't immediately fix the problem. The posts above were live for hours.

Sayers' post was deleted almost immediately according to the reports, and he was on soon afterwards to say he was hacked. Very unlikely imo. Now, it's possible for some rogue to pick up your unlocked phone at a bar, quickly snap a pic, and post it. And in that case you'd get the result seen, but Sayers didn't say that. He said he was hacked. I call shenanigans.
Hacker happened to also know a female executive of one of our sponsors

I’m tipping that it was hacked - I mean why would you post your own picture of something so small. 🤣

He meant to send it, not post it

A few people starting to ask questions. Let’s see whether they get any answers: https://archive.md/QYIx7

His leaving no stone unturned doesn't include asking the police or AFL to investigate.

He won't complain to the police and make a false statement. He won't want the AFL integrity unit investigating as they'll figure it out in about 3 seconds.

He has to stand down surely.

won't last a week if this wasn't a hack (which appears it isn't).
Surely getting moved on very soon. Keeping him around for another 23+ games is ludicrous. Imagine Carlton make it to the grand final. Club president doing media and functions the whole week. If they win doubtless getting their face in the celebrations.

If he isn't moved on Bupa won't renew the sponsorship.

I agree the police report will never happen.

After that… will the media put enough pressure on the AFL to investigate? His best hope is the boys’ club sweep things under the carpet. But I do think Caroline Wilson and others are likely to be vocal enough that the AFL’s hand is forced.

If the AFL tell him they are being forced into an investigation (and he will likely be told behind closed doors rather than a public announcement), then I agree he will stand down in advance of the investigation.

My best guess is he will put out a press release where he will continue to profess his innocence, admit the whole affair is a bad look for the club, and then say he is doing the right thing by stepping down to preserve Carlton Respects and the club sponsorships (which he will claim were the highlights of his Presidency).

Whether the truth ever sees the light of day may depend on whether we see media reports in the coming months of a “high society” divorce.

“Mr Sayers told the Herald Sun on Thursday that his account was hacked and that he would leave “no stone unturned” to find out “who did this to me and my family”.”

Found him.

Boy, that was easy.

Even before that. "Carlton Respects" round will be interesting.

I can’t for the life of me get my head around someone of his age and standing in the community doing such a stupid juvenile thing, maybe I’m very naive but I’ll wait for the facts to come out before jumping to a conclusion

At the level he is at, and the exec he sent it to, fooling around is pretty common, unfortunately.

Fired this off to the club today.

Dear Carlton Board of Directors

Beside the fact that Donald Trump is about to become the POTUS again despite his very ordinary track record, I hope the football club I support will deem it an untenable situation for Luke Sayers to remain as President given his current predicament.

We can’t possibly promote ourselves through the Carlton Respects initiative and turn a blind eye to what has transpired through this week.

Do the right thing and soon.

Reckon they'll stop reading at the 2nd line. Wtf does that have to do with the Carlton footy club?

And while we are at it picking holes in the letter and more generally...

We have been able to draw conclusions on here that it was a (horrific) mistake and he was not actually hacked. But somehow some have not been able to connect the dots further to ascertain that she was not randomly chosen to send the pic too in the first place. There has to be some form of existing relationship there. So as much as the thought of Seyers junk might repulse many, I think we can safely assume in this instance that it was consensual/invited in some way. Therefore, until evidence comes to light to the contrary, I think this has very little impact on the Carlton Respects program.

Unless I'm missing something about the situation, I don't think we can assume that the pics were consensual or invited, just because there may have been an existing relationship. He obviously would have relationships with people of a business/platonic nature.

Maybe it was as you described (perhaps there was an affair), but I don't think we can assume that just because they knew each other that she would have welcomed the pics. Plenty of women receive unsolicited and unwanted pics on social media.

Adding to the commentary around the dissonance of Sayers remaining as president prior to and during the Carlton Respects round, the upcoming Run for Respect in February (sponsored by Bupa) will certainly add to pressure for action (likely resignation without admission of guilt). I'm disappointed no official statement made as yet, but hardly surprised.

I am not trying to suggest she said "send me a DP". But while I don't want to give him too much credit, we have to assume he has some ounce of business acumen and general level of smarts to get to his position in society. So Im saying I dont think he randomly just decided I might just randomly send a DP to this lady I like without being very confident it would not offend

Yeah but the fatal flaw in that argument is that he (allegedly) did not respect his wife, so IMHO it stands.

I really think people need to consider that being good at one thing, such as relationship management and self-promotion doesn't make you good at other related things, such as avoiding impulsive mistakes.

History is full of people who are good at climbing the social ladder and not much else
