There will be a few new captains in 2012, so I thought I'd look at who I think will be the captains in 5 years time.

Post your list

2017:

Adelaide: Richard Douglas
Brisbane: Jack Redden
Carlton: Marc Murphy
Collingwood: Scott Pendlebury
Essendon: Michael Hurley
Fremantle: Michael Barlow
Geelong: Joel Selwood
Gold Coast: David Swallow
GWS: Stephen Coniglio
Hawthorn: Jarryd Roughead
Melbourne: Jack Trengrove
North Melbourne: Andrew Swallow
Port Adelaide: Travis Boak
Richmond: Trent Cotchin
St Kilda: Ben McEvoy
Sydney: Daniel Hannebry

By then it might be Wingard.

You spelt "Patrick Dangerfield" wrong.

I also would not be surprised to see Phil Davis captain GWS one day.

Seems to be a pretty good assessment, except that Pendlebury could conceivably be captain of GWS, leaving Collingwood with O'Brien or Fasolo. Maybe Morabito at Fremantle?

This man,

I hoping Josh Kennedy one day captains the eagles.

I think David and Andrew Swallow will take the reigns one day at their respective clubs.

I doubt Griff will ever be our captain. I'd love him to be, but he just isn't the sort of guy to do it really.
Maybe if he develops his leadership a bit more, but as of now, I would lean towards it never happening.

I honestly don't know who our future captain will be. Maybe someone we draft this year.

he will still be playing for at least the next two seasons and that is plenty for him to be Captain to top off an outstanding career. Then selwood can step in.

Didn't Bartel just sign a 4 year deal anyway?

I don't know Freo too well, but is Barlow a real leader around the club?

Yeah, Fremantle were really hard to judge because I don't see any obvious future leaders. granted I don't watch many of their games.

Fyfe will be a gun, but not every superstar is a leader

Same with the bulldogs, Maybe Wallis or Liba ?

Dangerfield will be wearing No. 30 at Geelong by then, living it up on the Surf Coast, and owning pubs and clubs in Geelong.
