how is Crocker travelling? assuming he has an average year this year what would his draft range be?

I spoke to an older ex player the other week and he believes that Crocker is the pick of father son picks in this draft. He also strongly believes Blakey wants to pick North as his preferred club over Sydney (Brisbane not a chance). Not sure where he got the info from, just passing it on. If all the above is true, I can't wait for 2019 and beyond, exciting stuff.

Does this "older ex player" have any solid connection to John Blakey, or is this just a hunch?

He isn't an ex team mate, he's a 77 premiership player. Lives in Melbourne. I'm trying to connect the dots and all I come up with that he played for North.

Did he have anything to say about Scott at the same time?

I think Crocker started playing games for Sandringham later in the season. Just played the 5. Combination of school footy commitments and breaking into a strong side. Played well when he got in. Got in the beats in one game and got over 20 possessions in the next 2 after that. Got injured in a final. He's probably a 30-40 pick at this stage but could obviously brain it this year or drop away.

Joel just needs to stick to a few games of school footy and his bloody homework!!!!!!

Crocker is a little underrated, I could see him rising up the ranks this year.

He's been on the radar for a while, being a u15 AA.

He had a particularly good second half of the season after his APS footy finished up.

Will be interesting to see if he makes Vic Metro.

According to some early phantoms drafts Crocker is listed top 40 with a speculative range of around 25-40.

I would be very surprised to see Bailey come to North. But hey it would be a wonderful story for North if all the f/sons chose us.

Given that media thinks we are the anti destination club and all. It would be a real ‘**** you all’ moment for the NMFC.

Fingers crossed..

I thought Scott was promising from the word on here. It would be a stunning vote of confidence if all of them were available to us and chose to go with us - great story and would make for years of whinging about FS rule from every team if we jagged a few GF's from them.

Blakey picking North makes a lot of sense to me. Picking Sydney puts pressure on his old man to change his role. Always good for young men to leave the nest and make it on their own, a bit of independence and get away from home. I really do think he picks north.

Cue a rule change from the AFL that would require us to pay addtional points to draft Blakey due to him being a Sydney academy player!

Better hope we don't finish 9th on the back of 153 goal final AFL season from Waite

I get why you and others go down this road, and if footy were just a spreadsheet I'd have to agree, its better in a rational sense to finish last if you aren't going to compete for the flag. But I watch footy because I love the game, and I would happily finish ninth to have the privilege of seeing Jarrad Waite play the season his body has always denied him playing. There's noone better to watch when he's fit and firing.

Yeh/nah.

I'll take a strategic year to achieve a premiership over watching a talented veteran turn it on for a year.

I thought he has only trained with Sydney?
