AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Not sure who the four would of been , most likely the ones mentioned. ..I think ballas/sandi definitely in the mundy campForgot about Sandi. I would substitute Zarke for Griff based purely on body language in the rooms last year, which is admittedly a flimsy basis.
I hope Hagdorn is right this time.Hagdorn reporting Fyfe has signed. Either 3 or 4 year deal. $1.2 mil a year plus bonuses.

I was just about to say the same thing.I think most of us were predicting a pre-derby signing - hope it is true so we can move on to getting the other boys signed as well.
Jesus Hagdorn is a terrible writer though. Takes two sentences of relevant information and pads it out with absolute fluff so he can submit it as an article. 'Sports journalism' - exceeding all expectations in lowering the bar of professionalism. To the Media thread!
Just keep resting him here and there so he can't manage itI like the idea of a $200,000 carrot on the end of the Brownlow stick.
Who is going to want it more than Nathan Fyfe?
That's the $200,000 question. If they're lofty terms to be met like Brownlow, grand final, All Australian incentives then I can live with that but if it's something like playing 16 games a year or making captain or something like that then I'd rather that money go to one of our young Vic guys out of contract to offer them a fair deal to keep them here.I like the idea of a $200,000 carrot on the end of the Brownlow stick.

Hagdorn reported it? Dammit - he's off to the Saints!Hagdorn reporting Fyfe has signed. Either 3 or 4 year deal. $1.2 mil a year plus bonuses.

Yea that did cross my mind, too. $1.2M salary cap $200K marketing?The article states;
"$200,000 a year in additional service agreement earnings for Fyfe's extensive media commitments as well as endorsements with club and AFL approved preferred sponsors."
Is that even part of the cap? Or is this part of that special service agreement that some premium players get (think Buddy gets it too). Might only be $1.2MM from the actual cap? Ambassador role or something like that?
Reckon Hagdorn is just having a punt on the details in the effort to have the exclusive? Those terms seem off to me but I wouldn't be surprised if the announcement is made today.
Even if you click on it , you can said you didn't with nobody watching.haha. saw the article 'front page' of the WAToday that Fyfe has signed. Got excited. Saw Hagdorn's name and then didn't even bother clicking on it.
