The good news is, even a win this week doesn’t help Hinkley much because it’s only the 14th placed Saints.

We can “respond” all we like this week but it’ll be nothing comparable to beating West Coast in Perth in 2019, the Swans at the SCG last year or Geelong at Kardina this year before they fell in a slump.

lorenz very very likely to debut. but knowing donuts he will just put boak back on the wing and forget will lorenz.

Somehow this game reminds me of the 2000 round 11 clash, the battle of the battlers.

Port lost and went bottom, before turning their fortunes around and becoming a dominant side in the competition over the next 3 and a half years.

Not saying that this will happen again, just that it feels like a battle of two very average teams on gameplay.

Last week was about as lacklustre a performance as we have seen in recent times. I actually expected a bit of a response from the players given the previous two weeks.

For them to dish that up shows we are stuck in a deep rut.

I can’t remember the players ever looking so lost out on the field from a tactical perspective. They appear at odds with whatever game plan it is that the coaches have tried to implement.

Look for the Hinkley gold pass players all lifting. We know who they are

There never is.

Lost count of the number of times coaches/media/fans say that and come gameday there's nothing but the same old sameness. No aggression, no intent, no spark, just a group of guys trying to believe in the 'process' that makes them unaccountable for anything and everything.

The reason we are bottom in the AFLW, the SANFL, and on a rapid decline in the AFL isn't just Hinkley. It's also just not because we're one of the newest teams, or because of the SANFL and their suffocating rules towards us, or because of Hinkley's messed up game style either. Sure, all of the above play a part but it's much deeper than that.

This is a governance disease. It starts at the top and has been let run without restraint for years and now we're seeing it all come to the surface.

Adversion to basic standards and accountability have been replaced with spin or gaslighting to protect others from honest appraisal.

The board, CEO, Football Department, Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, List Management, Coaching Assistants and the playing list have all benefited greatly from the governance of the club and until we start being much more professional, much more demanding of others, we'll continue to be a place that puts emotional wellbeing before ultimate success.

That's the direction David Koch has always wanted the Club to head and at this point in time, he's won.

If Saint Kilda beats us this week after all the negative reports in the media, and what the Port Adelaide supporters have been saying on social media and on other media networks here in Adelaide, i'll be very angry and disappointed.

It's time the players, coaches and club show us what the Port Adelaide Football Club can do in these hard times. No bullshit talking Port Adelaide. I and others want to see action.

The action I want to see is a coach sacking, not a meaningless Round 16 win against the worst club in the AFL. Go Sainters.

If the club (players, coaches, administrators, etc) have even a shred of pride and self-esteem, they will come out like whirling dervishes and be like men possessed, and smash the 15th ranked side in the comp this week.
Then say "Nah nah na na nah! See, we told youse we were contenders".

Would be the absolute worst possible scenario for us to lose to a side that averages around 50 points scored per match.

Who am I picking???

I never want to see Port lose even a game of marbles - but it's hard to pick a winner. I'll say a draw!

I can't for the life of me wish for the players to not put in any effort and for us to get smashed by St Kilda. I think when the time rolls around sunday i will still be hoping for a win and for these players to show some of the talent that has gone missing in recent weeks.

Kenny is a dead man walking, it is clearly happening now but i think it won't happen until the season is officially cactus. I think that's been made pretty clear with the messaging this week.

Agree, but I feel we are mentally shot. Will we dig deep enough when it counts? Is this group capable? I mean its only St Kilda and they can be a bit scary
