I still feel that the way games open up in the second half really suits Port's style, plus they have the crowd.

We're in with a shot but I hope the fans can be proud even if we fall short. We've shown so much spirit.

We certainly can't count our chickens yet. Not on this ground. Not against Port. But this has been a half to be very proud of.

Also that was a blatant 50m on the siren. Ump paid free kick to Stef. Dixon held the ball and argued with the umpire for 5 seconds. Then turned around and finally gave the ball back. 50m every time.

I'd say that it's lit a bit of a rocket under a few that is driving this performance. Forwards launching themselves at the ball in the air, mid's first and hard at the footy, tackling, pressure. Gardiner standing up in his absence back there.

That first half was particularly impressive considering we're missing Beams and Rich. Everyone stepped up and played their role. Still a full half of footy to go though.

clearances is what we were concentrating on this year. We are up 22 to 17 our young brigade are performing. contested positions 73 to 76 so again our young bodies are getting in there against a very mature team. Stef on the hit outs 29 to 11 just brilliant but centre clearances 9 to them against our 6. We have 30 tackles to their 20. Just great endeavour all round by our guys. Something terrible would have to happen for those who predicted we loose by 50 to 100 points. We will loose a bit of puff and they look like that have lost Wines. This is very exciting. Go you good things.

Still a few players that need to get their hands on the ball a bit more: Robertson, Lester, Cox, Rayner (although he got a goal, so somewhat nullified) all 5 disposals or less and Berry on 6 disposals. If l have one wish, it were to beat this team, can't stand them

Considering the circumstances, that is close to the best 1/4 of footy since the premiership years.

I never want to see Bewick in the A grade again. Those two misses were inexcusable. He was not drafted till he was 21, and has never established himself as an automatic selection for a reason - he is not good enough and would never make a finalist's team. I would rather get games into Baily.

Rayner has only had the 5 touches but it seems like he's had more because he's had an impact with all 5. Took 2 big contested marks, kicked a goal, hit up Lewy with a lace out ball through the corridor, burst out of a stoppage and banged the footy long to a 50/50 contest. Also laid 3 ferocious tackles. Playing well.

What i did notice is that our field kicking always seemed to be hitting someone. Amazing what confidence does. Good funddamentals

We need to push them to the siren otherwise, great first half but thats it.
