How can it be even when other players will possibly get to play four games against Heeney's three games?Heeney off to a good start, likely to play two more games.
Totally agree, it has happened before that players with four games have won over high performers from three games. How can it be even when other players will possibly get to play four games against Heeney's three games?
It's not even but if Heeney plays two more games like that no one will be close! How can it be even when other players will possibly get to play four games against Heeney's three games?
Nice that you guys agreeTotally agree, it has happened before that players with four games have won over high performers from three games.

Yep its always been the major flaw with the award. Players from the best teams are at a massive disadvantage.
Either 3 best scores or average the 4 would be the obvious fixes.
Sam Walsh back to back.

I wouldn't say it's a massive disadvantage.
In fact, every player that has won the award ever has come from a team that played 3 games, so it really hasn't proven to be a big issue so far.
Players also have come from the best teams, with Sam Walsh the only winner from a non Grand Finalist.
I do agree it has the potential to be an issue and the it should be considered - but it certainly hasn't played out that way so far at all.
Richmond 2020?
I havent looked at any other years...
I agree, I thought Newcombe was BOG clearly, I didn't see the hype of Burgoyne played well but I thought maybe a little bit too much sauce was put on it being his first big game that he has played well.I feel like Newcombe was a little unlucky in the votes for the semi -final.
The coaches have clearly voted very differently. Happy that Jase Burgoyne got BOG but I thought Newcombe was the other one clearly vying for that and very clearly top 2, with a blanket over a few others a long way behind those top 2.
Newcombe had 8 more possessions than anyone else on the ground. He had the most contested possessions of anyone on the ground. He had the most effective possessions of anyone on the ground. He had the (equal) most clearances of anyone on the ground. He also had 6 tackles, 2 goal assists and the most score involvements and score launches for his team.
Thought it was more of an 8-9 vote game than a 5 vote game (as one coach obviously felt and one didn't).

Feels like Heeney will take it now that Holmes is apparently sick.
I’m still big on “The Chad” for the NS
He was obviously BOG against the Giants. Yesterday was a very even performance across the team. He was still very good. Some might have him as BOG. But it’s not clear cut he’ll get the ten votes.Heeney could do the Norm Smith medal/Gary Ayres Award double (Same year) for sure.

If the Lions win tonight and Zorko has even a very good (not necessarily BOG) game he’s probably in the box seat by dint of playing four games to any Swan’s three.
