So they cheated the salary cap and still couldnt afford to give Tim Kelly a decent wage.

Thats some bush league sh*t, Geelong.
and then went and asked the AFL for some additional payments for him outside of the salary cap...talk about cheeky

Nothing can blind systematic performance enhancing injections to virtually entire playing group except trauma caused amnesia. Like finding out your club organised systemic performance enhancing injections to virtually the entire playing group.

Oh and tried to cover it up and blame others.
Flatline Fletch likes this.

Can anyone demonstrate how Geelong breached the player salary cap?

……..Didn't think so

Yeh, This guy.

So let's average the TPP at $11.5m over the 8 years.

Player agent gets ~10%, so GST is 1% of TPP = $115k

PER YEAR

And the fine was what? $5k/year.

That's like stealing $1m from a bank and the court tells you to pay $1k back and not to do it again

If the AFL actually provided some detail to go along with their under the carpet press release we might have some transparency.

This is an amazing comparison: The Adelaide Adveriser has today reported that the Adelaide Thunderbirds (a national Netball team) have been fined $100,000 after self reporting a ONE YEAR salary cap breach of just $22, 698. Compare that to a much more financially viable Geelong who been making mistakes for 8 years (apparently), and the pittance they got for their breach. Not only that, the TBirds were really transparent about exactly what the breach was.
There's a whiff.....

Geelong should be fined millions for continuing to employ fraudsters …………Chris Scott in particular

Geelong are self penalising themselves by continuing to employ Chris Scott.

I'm more than happy with that arrangement. ;)

After inheriting a gun list Scott won one flag and has run a total root ever since. What's not to like?

Lol Brad Scott got a larger fine for questioning the umps after a match.

$5k a year for 8 years?

AFL would've received the paperwork for 8 years as well, and even they didn't pick it up until Geelong brought it to their attention. Is that Geelong's fault as well?

Oh so you actually know what the error was?

What was it it?

And if it was an error, say not including something into a total that was submitted to the AFL, how the hell would the AFL even know it wasn't included?

Errors are found by the people doing the calculations or auditors.

Apparently someone can because they were fined under Steve Hocking's watch
for breaching TPP lodgement rules. Where does it say one player was paid overs in breach of the cap?
