Geelong for the flag in 2019?

Nah, you'll be lucky to make the 8 and then it'll just be the same as last season if you do manage to scrape in.

Your recent track record shows that you're nothing more than mediocre.
Don't lose too much sleep Dez. I know Geelong's results impact your wellbeing.

If our track record is mediocre what does that say about Melbourne's?

Our track record over an extended period has been poor obviously I can admit that because unlike you I'm not a blind potato but our recent track record has us trending upwards whereas Geelong has been sitting on a treadmill being nothing more than a mediocre team that hasn't done anything to change that.

We'll see.

He was consulted by Robinson on numerous occasions. On the eve of the 2007 Grand Final, Dean Robinson gave an interview where he explained the changes he brought to Geelong's training - making them more powerful athletes. He credited Steve Dank for helping him throughout the year to (via weekly conservations on the phone)

LMAO. What the hell would Dank have known about Coll, Haw and WCE? He fed Hird all kinds of bullshit. He was a salesman who preyed upon Hird's hyper-competitive, whatever-it-takes, win-at-all-costs mentality. That much is pretty obvious from reading the texts between them and the invoices running into six figures.

Dank also applied for a job at Geelong at the request of Robinson, had an interview with Steve Hocking and was told thanks, but no thanks. The medical team also had to clear things with the football department before anything was given the green light.

As Bomber said in his book, what Robinson and Dank did at Essendon never would've happened at Geelong as there were stricter controls at Geelong.

Keep speculating though.

Not to mention Robinson wasn't even in charge of our high performance team.

The ignorance around here still bemuses me.

Were they held in a National Park?

Did you know Stanley was an elite ruck?

Mediocre teams don't make 13 of the last 15 finals series.

You never say never in this game, but i wouldn't have thought so. The Cats have topped up their list the past few years (to my chagrin, Zach Tuohy probably being the best, being a star for The Catters), and now they have changed their approach with last year's draft and trade period by bringing in mostly talented kids, so it is a mini reset.

I'd say around 2021 is the next legit Cats flag push (their youth development program is arguably 2nd only to The Swans the moment)

Get the feeling Chris Scott won't be there much longer tbh, i think the AFL will convince him to take the Gold Coast job at the end of 2019 (which is both good for Geelong and Scott, who is a quality coach)

Quality coach? On what basis?

I know it’s only JLT and I definitely had my doubts among many others but I reckon Rohan and Dahlhause will be great pickups, rejuvenated at a new club where they grew up as juniors. One of the best midfields in the league and a now incredibly strong forward structure could see them smash a lot of teams this year which will easily push them into the 8, then who knows come finals time, although I don’t have much faith in the coach, definitely have the cattle though if everything goes right and sparing injury

Given that 8 out of 18 teams make finals, yeah they can.
Those 13 finals series include 3 premierships. Last year Melbourne made the finals for the first time in ten years after periods including back-to-back wooden spooners. I'm happy to support a "mediocre" team with our Premiership Cups while your champion team can keep your wooden spoons in the trophy cabinet.

I wouldn't take Dez too seriously. All those thrashings at the hands of Geelong over the years has made him a little bitter. He stalks Geelong related threads.
