Look I’d respect Geelong supporters more if they say “yeah we got the biggest advantage in the AFL but I don’t care”

But you also play the victim which is astounding. No shame.
We've got four flags at the MCG this century, we play anywhere and win. Why do the big MCG tenants in Collingwood and Richmond only have two?

Your ladder positions got boosted because of GMHBA. Everybody knows you his (even Cats supporters) that’s why everybody talks about it. Even commentators. It’s actually sad, the AFL don’t even make money from you guys either. On top of that you just spent $142m dollars (a large chunk of it borrowed) to add 4000 seats at GMHBA (and can’t even fix the ground’s drainage system)

It’s not even harsh to say your club is a leech. I’d argue the game would be better off if Geelong folded or merged with Tassie.

You joined our competition, if you don't like it you can leave.

p.s. thanks for the new stand.

Let it all out mate.

We couldn't give two shits about your club so the vitriolic obsession that comes our way is merely a bit of amusement. What I've come to realise is this only comes from the brain dead section of Richmond supporters (there are a few but it's not a majority), the loudest idiots are not in fact representative. At this point it's mostly just you and Grandpa Rising kicking and shouting. All because your prediction for the team you irrationally hate turned out to be off by miles. So now an early 2010s home ground record is the excuse for Geelong playing better away than at home in 2024.

Yep, but morally I don’t get how you could support a club like that tbh. The flags would feel a little cheap especially with those f/s picks that they had to change the rules for.

Yeah but they don’t. You had a whole stack of F/S picks under the same rule. Just because they were shit doesn’t mean we have to feel bad.

Morally I don’t get how you could support a team that tries to lose tbh.

Smells like match fixing to me. Those flags would feel a little cheap especially with that priority pick that they had to change the rules for (and the other one that helped build your team who left before you won anything)

You bang on about advantage yet we still regularly play home finals at other sides' home ground, not to mention home games through the season.

Playing our KP games is all good and well but we sill have to win multiple finals at a different ground to win a flag.

If our ladder position is determined by playing at KP (and nothing else which is what is being suggested) we'd bow out of finals quick smart - yet I think we've only gone out in straight sets once or twice.

We just made our 15th prelim in 18 years. Playing at KP 9 times a year doesn't automatically make that happen.

Our ladder position gets boosted because we have the best away win percentage of any team in the competition in this period, would be what you’re trying to say.

Our 52-3 streak was because of KP mate, didn’t you know

This could be the saddest, most embarrassing comment I’ve ever seen anywhere on the internet. Lol

I wouldn't be foolish like you and make an ill informed prediction based purely on hatred and irrational emotion.

But there a few stats in Cats favour. Of the 11 teams since 2000 to win a qualifying final by 50+ points, all 11 have reached the GF, and 8 have gone onto win the GF, including Geelong 2007 (ironically, Tigers were wooden spooners in 2007 too)

How many of those had as weak a record as Geelong v the rest of the top 8 in the home and away season?

Or as weak a topical record as Geelong v the rest of the top 8(rd 9 onwards?)

My hatred of Geelong is on record, they are putrid. But my prediction is based on dispassionate analysis.

You can use all the clever words and tricks you like.

Once Selwood, Smith, Hawkins, Rohan, Cam Guthrie and Stewart aren't carrying this team there is not a chance Geelong will be capable of winning finals. The only decent young player you have is De Koning - if he misses then the Cats will crumble. Tuohy, Duncan, Stanley, Blicavs and Bews would be leading the Cats B&F so far this season. Where is the next generation of stars going to come from?

Lol, Cats fielded about 6 players under 25yo and fielded the oldest team in the finals week 1.

Lollll now it’s ‘round 9 onwards’ hahahahahahahaha

Your analysis - emphasis on the anal part given how shit it is most of the time - is founded on next to nothing.

You’ve been proven wrong from start to finish this season.

If you like, we can start digging up wins over teams entrenched in the 8 at the time we beat them as well just for shits and giggles

What is funny about that?

From rd 9 onwards(in other words the 14 most topical games form wise) Cats record against teams who finished in the 8 was 1-5. Their only win was at GMHBA v Hawks. Their 5 losses included 3 games at GMHBA. Show me another team who has won a QF by 50+ points with that sort of topical form v strong teams. Because that was the discussion you stuck your nose into.

Who gives a shit. We beat Essendon when they were still in the top four, Collingwood when they were still in the top 8, Fremantle when they were still in the top 8, all away from KP, no we’ve won a QF interstate by 14 goals.

How is this going to retrospectively undo your prediction of us being at the bottom of the ladder or somehow undo your ever exploding head trauma especially when even now, cats fans don’t really think we are all that much of a chance of winning the thing, we are just happy that we’ve succeeded in making it this far?

Dispassionate analysis? You wouldn't know what it was if it but you on the arse. You are a bitter and twisted poster who puts the majority of Tigers posters to shame with the garbage you post. Hiding behind thesis like "research" where, for example, you grade premierships according to divisions like it is some accepted factual criteria. Only in your small mind. You've even had fellow Tigers posters tell you to stop conjuring up conspiracy theories. Enough said

Lol, sensitive Cats fans don't want to discuss the subject so they play the man.

Find me a team who had a big QF win with form against top 8 teams like the Cats or stfu.

Staying clear of the &^# people from both sides in this thread, the Richmond ones who think there's an argument to be made, and the Geelong people who believe they are superior because a sports team they do not influence is currently successful.
It has been a remarkable performance from the Geelong hierarchy to rebuild on the run so well. I'm not sure if they are just using their geographical location to its fullest, or if their ability to spot talent and develop is so superior to the rest of the comp, but it is impressive to say the least.

I don’t think any of us think we are successful: it’s guys kicking a leather bag of air.

We have a somewhat strange time understanding why a grown man could be so inept at accepting various results in what is a sport and keeps trying to explain it away as coincidences, a series of freak occurrences, and to this day can’t take his medicine when he gets a prediction so blatantly wrong

What subject? Who gives a rats toss what you want? I'm not even sure what point you are trying to make other than what you ALWAYS do - diminish the achievements of the Cats. That's how bitter and twisted you are.

After the 2022 premiership you conjured up some theory that it was not a genuine AFL premiership but a Division 2 premiership. Then you banged on about the Cats playing the oldest team in the finals in Week 1. Whether true or not, who cares? We won a premiership with the oldest team.

The simple and immutable fact is Cats won by 50+ points in a QF. That makes them a Division 1 QF winner. Am I getting it right? And Div 1 QF winners statistically go onto play in the GF.

Once you get to finals all that matters is winning, not who you beat in the H&A to get to the finals

- Unique success

- Unique monopoly of country lifestyle

- Unique F/S picks

- Unique ground dimensions

- Unique high win % ratio at home ground

- Unique geographic location getting the benefits of both interstate and vic clubs

Must be just a coincidence I guess. You don’t have to be Sherlock to figure out wtf is going on.

You seem to be having an angry day Sttew.

All I did was point out the sample of teams who won QF's by 50+ points is not the only relevant sample Geelong belongs to.

And you have flown into a rage about it.

Dude there has been whole threads on Geelong advantage 🤣. The vast majority think it’s rigged, it’s why nobody rates your flag teams, especially compared to the dynasty teams this century.
