Not sure if I'm allowed to create Preview threads anymore because of that one guy that complained...

With that said... Here's the preview thread for next week's game!

Massive game.
Two sides high on the ladder.

We get Dangerfield back, what other changes will we make? Do Menzel & Motlop return? Will Duncan & Hawkins be suspended?

Will Geelong bounce back after a terrible loss to Sydney or will they lose their 2nd game in a row?

In terms of changes I'd make:

- Dangerfield comes in.
- I'd hope that Menzel returns.
- Wouldn't be surprised if Motlop misses again.
- Hope Duncan & Hawkins don't get suspended.
- Also... I've joined Seeds & catempire's side now, I'd play Stanley over Buzza as a forward, but ONLY as a forward, leave the rucking all to Smith, and only have Stanley ruck when Smith needs a rest, don't try to share the ruck.
- Don't think we'd bring Lang straight in the seniors, also reckon Cunico would need more than 1 VFL game before being considered.

Out - Z. Guthrie (omit), Buzza (omit), Simpson (omit).
In - Dangerfield, Stanley, Menzel.
*If Motlop is available then bring him in for Parsons who looks like he needs a rest, and play Motlop purely inside 50!

It's okay we have Parfitt.

It's funny our starting centre bounce wouldn't be too bad with Smith, Dangerfield, Menegola & S. Selwood. But after that we are f***ed. No one to kick it to except Buzza/Stanley/Taylor. Players in bad form (C. Guthrie) or inexperienced (Parfitt) rotating through middle.

Not going to be pretty if all those guys are out.

Danger will be back. Hopefully Menzel will be. I am not convinced we can have him and Motlop defensively so I would leave Motlop out.

Given Richmond basically only have one key forward we can't play all our talls in defence. Taylor needs to play forward and Kolo or Lonergan need to sit out. Ruggles if he plays well in the vfl should come in, while he has his flaws he does provide run from half back and we need it.

I didn't think Buzza was great but I don't rate Stanley either. I would rather play neither (and will once Blicavs is back) but that would leave us no 2nd ruckman so maybe we play one of them.

Black in for Hawkins if suspended. Probably Cunico for your Simpson. Zuthrie types if we don't have any more senior bodies like Lang GHS etc ready to come in, at least Cunico is a bit more ready than the first year guys.

The problem is we need a genuine crumbing small forward but there are no options, McCarthy Gregson and Cockatoo injured and Jones isn't ready IMO. We probably have to keep going with Parsons and maybe Guthrie pinch hitting again.

We should win this if we are fair dinkum.

Could try Black? Pretty mobile guy, chases hard, would try his best, just need someone to compete in the ruck while Smith has a rest.

Its a thought. But too short maybe?

The issue is structurally smith rucks bettet alone than with stanley he should ruck 85 and blicavs 15 and taylor CHF thats our best structure. Blicavs is a loss as any of our alternate 2nd ruck options pose structure issues.

Agree on Menzel but I do see the point with what he said was the reason.
Catch 22 perhaps, no point worrying about him for finals when we need him now but also no point if he's again unable to play when we need him to.

Stanley has to Come in for buzza - his contested marking and tanks alone mean he offers far far more.

Interestingly they've just put someone on the long term injury list but haven't upgraded anyone as yet. I'd imagine that jones just needs to stay fit and kick 3 and he plays next week.
