Any Geelong win is bad, but you guys thoroughly deserved this one & have put together a very impressive year. May it all come crumbling down next year!;)

Well played & congrats! :thumbsu:

Awesome Grand Final performance. Simply outstanding. One of the best teams we've seen. This premiership wasn't about super-talented individuals. Just everyone playing their role to a tee. No weak links. (I watched the demolition of Brisbane from up high in the nose bleeds and I was gobsmacked by how well organised Geelong was. It was kinda beautiful to watch them at work. I knew you would kill Sydney)

The Swans looked completely inept, but that was all due to Geelong. Killed them out of the centre. Looked dangerous every time the ball went inside fifty... and then strangled the life of them when they got possession. Gave them NOTHING.

Just an unbelievable job by Chris Scott & his assistants this year
Tremendous 2022 season after going pretty close and building, building in 2019, 2020, 2021

Well done, Catters. Congrats :thumbsu:

I mean this genuinely and not in a condescending way, but thanks for Smith. He's been a great player for us but he's also such a quality dude. Absolute Champion of a bloke and clubman.

Just wanted to say congrats on the year cats fans.

As a hawks fan I was in a weird spot today as along with tigers, swans and cats are my least favorite teams due to the rivalry. But respect the cats as you guys don’t have the ton of handouts the swans had.

But you guys were by far the best team this year and there’s something correct about the best team winning it.

However just wanted to say I was really impressed by Chris Scott’s coaching this year. Thought last year your teams 3 biggest flaws were:

1. Backline was way too tall and lacked any ground breaking speed and kicking skills.
2. Midfield was too one paced
3. FWD line lacked any FWD pressure.

Thought his coaching this year was great. Back 6 doesn’t have any player like Sicily, Daniel, Saad who can go right through the corridor but watching you this year no team could mark in your 50 cause your backline worked so well together and killed everything. Also love SDK growing in confidence each game.

Thought Atkins, Guthrie and Blicavs were amazing this year but they are amazing 2 way runners which meant that once your backline killed the high ball those players would push back and clog the defence of the opposition very smartly. Took some courage on Scott too basically make Selwood and Danger Mids 4 and 5 and Parfitt out of the side but made the team so well balanced.

And lastly watching cats games this year (granted not every game) rather than run right through the corridor. The amount of outlet chip kicks too Rohan, Miers, Close (this guy is way underrated bern great this year), Cameron and Stengel outside the defensive 50 meant they opened the space behind them for their forwards who are super quick (bar Hawkins) and there gut runners who are either quick or just run all day Blicavs, Holmes, Smith, Tuohy and their forwards effectively created speed on the ball which they had been criticised in the past.

It’s your day, but also love that the Hawks last beat you last (not that were in your league) but more love that our youth Moore, Lewis, Newc etc held their own against the best team this year and that’s exciting for our future which Clarko sapped out of.

Congrats on the season!!!!!!

Yeah, I always loved Izzy from his very first season in 2011. Just loved his hard running and his penchant for roosting long goals on the run (followed by a big celebration and that big goofy grin.) I never begrudged him moving on and chasing another flag. He was always such a likeable upbeat fella and a great clubman.

I was happy for him to cap his career today with some individual glory after being largely underrated throughout his time at Hawthorn. He was clearly the best wingman in the comp for a good 3 or 4 years, but nobody in the media was ever pushing the barrow for true wingman to be included in the All Australian team back then.

He has always stood up in the biggest games. He deserved his moment today after a fine career.

Pre-game, I tipped Danger to win the Normie - I predicted he would get 20 contested possessions and he got 19. I thought it would've been nice for him to cap his HoF career with the medal, but he has already won enough individual awards for 10 men. All he really cared about was getting that premiership medal.

Just popping in to say congratulations and well played for the year. I saw this stat in my team's discussion about your finishes over the past 9 years.

It says a lot about the dedication and courage of your club to keep performing so highly and coming back year after year even if you don't achieve the ultimate reward - until now!
Great job! You deserve it!

2013 - prelim
2014 - straight sets
2016 - prelim
2017 - prelim
2019 - prelim
2020 - runners up
2021 - prelim
2022 - premiers!
