Confirmed by who?? Would have thought that the interstate game may be at night if that senario eventuates..

I would have thought that the interstate finals would be played at night (depending on how many there are depending on this week's results) thus we would play during the day.

Lol i guess time will tell if its day or night. donno why people are talking about previous years, bears no relevance to this year.

Saints are almost certain to play on sunday. DOgs anD Pies wont play on Friday night.

True...hopefully the Bombers and Blues and Lions win

Then the lions will host Sat night as they won't be during the day

And the Carlton-Ess blockbuster would likely be the friday night

Which means we will play Coll/Bulldogs on Sat arvo, and Saints will play Coll/Bulldogs on Sunday arvo

I'm just guessing, but it makes some degree of sense

i think this is the most likely scenario and the one i'd deifinitely prefer but i cant understand why the AFL wouldn't schedule the Brisbane final in the arvo?
Dont get me wrong it's what im hoping for but i think given Collingwood play sunday evening this weekend AFL would want them to have longest possible break i.e. Sat.Night.

Getting very warm this time of year. I'd think that both teams playing that game would not want it played during the day as it would affect them going ahead into the rest of the finals

Thats a point, didnt think of that.
Although player welfare hasnt always been the number one priority to the AFL when making fixuring decisions in the past so we'll wait and see i guess.

If the Lions win or lose tomorrow night we will be the Saturday night. We also fly back from Sydney on Sunday, and the Pies and Dogs don't travel.

Given OldStyle's original point re: games in QLD on top of your travel point means if common sense provails you'll play either Adelaide or Carlton home or away on Saturday night. Obviously leaving cats v pies at MCG an arvo game.

still though whenever i say common sense and AFL in the same sentence i dont feel confident, particularly with fixturing. I know, i should probably get over it.

question though, why wouldnt the lions fly back after the game on saturday night? would that be a length of travel thing because i recall cats flying back same evening last year with our perth games.

Perth games start at 6:40pm and Perth airlines offer late night flights due to the time difference. By the time the Lions are done at the SCG on Saturday night, it's 11pm and I don't think there's any midnight flights. The Lions will stay in Sydney on Saturday night, do a recovery session and get a midday flight back to Brisbane.

Ah OK fair enough. Hopefully they get up, should be an interesting game that one.
Maybe Vossy should charter a private jet and fly it at low altitude like Collingwood did a couple of years ago in the finals. haha
