Is anyone going to say that shiel left himself open to being concussed by poor awareness and poor positioning of his body?, cotchin was cracking in from the start and he would have seen cotchin before going to get the ball, surely he must of been expecting some sort of physical clash in that instance. Had he put his body behind the ball to pick it up than we wouldnt be even discussing whether cotchin is going to miss the grand final or not. FWIW it was a magnificent aggressive attack on the man and ball, exactly what a captain should be doing to lead by example unlike duckwood. If he goes for that this game is a farce.

I think the three strike rule is the farce. Leaves the MRP at times functionally facing a ban or a complete acquittal.

Triple the fines and drop the three strikes.

Doesn't matter he decided to bump and that's the risk you take, it doesn't matter if you agree with the interpretation or not. He collected a players head and said player didn't take part in the game due to the incident.
I don't think he did decide to bump, the pics doing the rounds show him going hard at the ball, his back makes contact with his head. He will be fine to play.

The contact was made to the head with his shoulder not his back
By the letter of the law he is in strife
However he won't be and we all know that

Just watched the VFL GF between Richmond and Port Melbourne which Port won by 4 points. An absolutely cracking game, distinctly stoppage free and one of the best matches I've seen during the finals season. Be nice if we could get some AFL finals more like this one. Best bit was that Richmond lost, that should take a bit of air out of their balloon :D

Could that be the start of Tiggy train derailment ?
Some short memories here.

The vfl game during the season has low camera angles, but at Etihad with afl angles shows the AFL up a bit

Btw for all the tiger hype, they haven't made a big showing at the vfl grand final compared to Footscray or box hill hawks

Maybe still hung over

Strange seeing Gary Ayres so enthused about Port Melbourne.

He’s always be one of my favourites.
Anyone wanting to know what sort of footballer he was, regard him as the Luke Hodge of the 1980’s: leadership, tough as nails, big game player: 5 premierships says it all.

And 2 premierships as a coach.

Do you mean in terms of supporters attending? Do you know how many attended? They were predicting a big crowd.

They choked big time imo, that last goal they got port had 3 loose players in the 50, could have raffled it really. Structure broke down when the game was up for grabs and they have no one to blame but themselves.
