If you watched AAA then you're helping keep him in a job
I understand what your saying mate but I felt it was important to hear what both those douchebags had to say about Clarko's presser. Was it going be in support of what Clarko said about the state of the game or just the same old agenda. We all know Clarko is right with his comments about the way the game is officiated and you'd think that even blind Freddy would acknowledge as much. If there was nothing Hawk related then no I wouldn't have watched it but I'm always interested good or bad when there is something about us.

Gil just agreed with Clarko regarding the HOTB rule :)
On another note was watching the Foxtel after game show First Crack. I know a few people don't like David King (2014 GF prediction) but he was backing Clarko and talking mostly sense. He was partnered with Dal Santo who has absolutely no idea. With most commentators I can see their expertise and what they bring but poor Nick really hasn't got a clue.

Imagine if you were a GWS player and you left because you saw other teams that were better prospects for the flag.

Imagine if said ex-GWS player had his pick of any club in the land.

Imagine if this dark-haired GWS player then picked Essendon.

Imagine how this hypothetical player will feel when he reaches the end of his career with no premier medallions and finally realises Essendon FC is a football abyss.

Just. Imagine.
You might say the same for Cogs as well if they don't get a flag either. Clock is ticking.

Holding the ball is a disgrace.

There are two ways to dispose of the football. Handball it or kick it.

EVERYTHING else should be a free kick.

If it gets knocked out - free kick. If it spills free - free kick. If a team mate takes it out of your hands - free kick. If you drop it - free kick.

Once you take possession if it comes out without being kicked or handballed it MUST be a free kick.

On another note the more times you can change the direction of the game - ie. give free kicks for defensive plays - the more tired the players will get and the more they will revert back to positional play.

And on another note the more likely you are to lose the ball to a free kick in a tackle the more likely you are to retain your defensive structure.

We all know the easiest way to score is turnovers. Free kicks for holding the ball are turnovers.

Be red hot on 50's too. Players will learn.

Gil has agreed with Clarko in regards to the holding the ball rule.. Hmmm get ready for a record number of Hawthorn players getting caught holding the ball this week.

‘the only time the commentary called a throw was a hawthorn player

.....and bloody easy to adjudicate.

No, no, no and no. Nothing cheaper than a goal being kicked thanks to a 50 like we suffered yesterday. I don’t like seeing it happen to the Hawks, I don’t like seeing it happen to the oppo, I flat out don’t like seeing it. Let the players decide the result not the umpires and their overcooked technicalities. Or keep the 50 for reportable incidents and bring back the 25 for everything else.

Edit- I do agree with everything else you’ve said though.

I am more referring to the crap the players dish up when they spend 30 seconds talking with the umpire about who’s free kick it is before they hand the ball over so their defence can set up.

There should be a rule that if the umpire calls a free you put the ball on the ground. Piss the whole you give back to the free kick guy thing away but you must put it down immediately and you must get out of the way. Otherwise 50

I agree the protected zone thing is a joke.

Okay this I can agree with, as everybody knows why players do it and it does slow the momentum down.

To go off on a rant I’d be more than happy to see the game slow down a bit though. bring back the physical contest, get players with traits like Sam Mitchell drafted again and leave the Billy Hartungs to marathons.
Id love to see the return of a 100 goal a year gorilla foward that is dominant. Will never happen as long as the game is geared towards speed.

That's it I'm done with all footy shows for the year. This b*tching and moaning about the 'state of the game' is worse than watching the games themselves.
Do yourself a favour, don't watch any footy shows. All of them biased, pushing agendas or regurgitating the wrong stuff everyone else is saying.

Classic Jono Brown "hawks exploit FA"

I watched a bit of 360 tonight. Robbo is a complete and utter twat. Went straight into blaming the coaches. FFS - it is the coaches job to exploit the rules. It is not their fault.

The single biggest change to football ever is 4 on the bench and unlimited rotations. Even in the early 90’s bench players were largely reserves and there was only two of them. This change to the game has been massive and it has never been properly addressed.

Yep. The rise in professionalism coupled with the interchange led to players been able to run much harder before coming off for a rest and coming back on. Dramatically reduce rotations and watch the best players spend more time on the field up forward and more positional play.

I gave up 2 years ago. Like others have said, don’t bother watching mate. You will never get any positivity about anything Hawthorn related on any of those shows. It’s always a negative slant. We win the opposition were shit. Oh and it’s because of Clarko. We lose, how dreadful and old were the hawks.
Rinse and repeat.
Do yourself a favour. Avoid the crap
Oh and also, any MRO decisions, always wrong when it’s a hawks player involved

I gave up in 2012 when Robbo was riding shotgun with Bomber on the drugs scandal. Chief football writer for the HS. Says it all.

I haven't watched any of them for last couple of years and I haven't missed one single one.
I really miss the good old days of the original Talking Footy and such. Proper analysis and informative. A far cry from what is dished up by some of these pseudo experts these days.
