Stevens will probably come back in the game against us to tear us a new one #alwaysdoes

Hope he gets himself right, kudos to him for putting his hand up and talking to the club about his health.

Massive loss for the saints if it does drag into the season, their best midfielder by a mile and it’s not a big list of candidates to choose from.

Welcome to the club Hannebery!!

Garry Lyon is a ****ing hypocrite. Hid behind mental health when caught ****ing his best mates wife and has the nerve to belittle those suffering from what is the new health epidemic.

I knew nothing about mental health until i suffered a spinal cord injury 12 months ago. You feel isolated and spend all your energy trying to put on a face of happiness for people when all your doing is dying ever so slowly inside.

SEN management and Lyon need to issue a statement condemning those archaic views.

I hope you’re back on track physically & mentally Ironman

Yeah and the media talk of the last week will have convinced a lot of people its really just a drug addict trying to hide it.

Congrats media, just set mental health back 20 years.

20 Years? That's a long time.

You can't win talking about it and you achieve nothing by burying the discussion, when there's a valid reason for it to be discussed.

Not an easy one, but let's hear what Stevens has to say when and if he chooses to say something.

Best wishes to Jack Steven, wish him all the best in his recovery from his current mental health issues. Gun player, one of my favourite Non Carlton player's in the league.

Its not a sign of weakness but strength when a person (especially a professional footballer) puts their hand up and ask for help.

Depression/Anxiety etc can hit anyone, anywhere, no matter their socio-econic status.

It really pisses me off when I read or hear comments like "What has he or She got to be depressed about ?" with regards to famous people/sports stars struggling with mental health issues.

Take all the time you need, Stevo.

amazing courage to choose the vulnerability that comes with a decision like this - massive respect.....

More glossy terms to describe something that shouldn't be too hard at all, if we all allowed it to be so.
What exactly is so astonishing about someone claiming they have an issue to deal with? Why would we play this up as though they're one-of-a-kinds?
It doesn't serve a function. Lots of people don't care to be adored for doing what should really be normal. i.e. You have a problem, you deal with it.
No one is going to, or at least shouldn't, frown upon Stevens or others that have issues to deal with, whether physical or mental.
They're not heroes for this. They're just living a life that isn't always easy.......for any of us.

That's why I brought up his angle when this issue opened up on SEN last week.

He did not want to discuss it, because it may have threatened the cushion he has built for his pitfalls, calling out 'ignorance', until of course he had to deal with it the following day. the
May have taken a deep breath before having to go in head first and he did it in a manner of self-protection. Listen to it and you may agree.

I know from experience....its not easy...its damn hard. And one of the things about it that is reinforced for a sufferer is how alone life really is ultimately. When you cant escape that theres no blue skies. And anyone that hasn't suffered can never know. Medication is a short term mask that becomes just another problem over time.....thoughts are eternal. Depression is not circumstantial.

Good luck to Steven

Really hope so - up there with the Bombers for most hated for mine....Growing up in the Sandbelt in the 80s when they were shit and we were great yet everyone went for that rabble has had a significant impact on me...

They have been :poo: since 1966.

Also same shit supporters and I am surrounded by them where I live.

Agree, they are one of the worst supporter bases. Probably cos they’ve been starved of success. I don’t know what ‘Saints Footy’ is that they always bang on about but it must be pretty shit...I guess they have that streak DVD to amuse themselves with...
