nothing much more to read, aph - the usual pies put out a statement etc - not injured..........

Collingwood star Dayne Beams was involved in a car accident on Thursday in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
Beams, 30, was taken to hospital following the accident but did not suffer any serious injuries, sources said.

Best wishes to Beams and I really hope he is able to get the help/treatment he so sorely needs.

Pretty disappointed at the lack of compassion and judgements and unfounded rumours directed at him, esp from so called 'Side by Side supporters.

Just as an observer who has suffered from my own self-destructive habits in the past, this latest incident clearly is a cry for help for Beams.

Yes I do also believe in personal accountability and responsible responsibility for your own actions, but sometimes when you reach rock bottom (which if seems Beams has), your mind and emotional state is in turmoil and you are incapable of making sane/rational decisions whilst your in a total state of pain and despair.

Anyone know where I can send Beams a personal and sincere message of empathy and friendship. Seems to me like he really could use a couple of good and caring people/friends in his life right now.

Maybe don’t start a thread on the main board, will be derailed in a couple of seconds

It may have been before but not now.

That image seems to give a bit of an insight into what may have occurred. Maybe not, but it's all to familiar given what went down last year.
Most people have empathy, sadly there are still plenty of keyboard heroes willing to kick vulnerable people while they are down.

You would hope society as a whole can learn to be more understanding of the pressure faced in all walks of life, regardless of how well paid or high profile anyones existence is.

It is not good to see anyone’s life fall apart, there is always a circle of family and/or friends that are impacted as well.

If indeed one in four people have serious mental health issues at some point in time in life, it may be fair to say we have a real problem.

I don't think it takes a keyboard hero to take joy put of someones demise, it takes a person who may well have issues of their own.
That's why we should all try and refrain from calling out someone as a 'this or that' without knowing what may lie behind their own issues......and everyone has issues. We have a long way to go....all of us.
Please don't speak on my behalf.

Anyone used the 'High Beams' gag yet?

Well have they?

Wow, so Port Adelaide FC were established 16 years before the city of Adelaide? Amazing! o_O

Makes sense

Adelaide is usually running about 16 years behind reality...
