It always amazes me how good our players are compared to the elite of the competition - im shocked we even lose a game, let alone not make finals for years at a time

Just rereading the Crows board, during the McGovern trade.

It's really interesting, the difference between his value now versus his value at the time. Some of them wanted us to trade pick 1 - which we picked up Walsh with - for him. Its kind of mindblowing that, even contracted, he was ever considered worth that much in a trade; some of that's due to the degree Walsh has exploded onto the AFL scene, but some of that's also due to how haphazard our game has been over that time too.

Had we been better and him a mite fitter, perhaps he'd be perceived differently, even if it'd still be absurd to compare him to Walsh.

No matter the sport, we usually overvalue our own players, by a lot. I am sure there were Carlton supporters on here who valued SPS between Pick 22 and 30 last year. And Dow is either a late 1st rounder, early 2nd rounder.

I was at the Hall of Fame dinner and they were filming 360 a couple of metres away from my table. Robbo kept putting his arm around that back of her chair, and by her body language it looked like she was NOT having it.

he's become a parody of himself - print journos really don't need to be seen - he writes his column, why every person with an opinion has to be seen on camera is beyond me - he throws his arms everywhere, gushes and fumbles verbally, gets so worked up about the most mundane things - I reckon he is officially an embarrassment and whatelely must be under some sort of pressure to develop an exit strategy..........
