Is it possible to feel sorry for both the aggrieved former players and Clarkson and Fagan ? The whole case could nothave been more poorly handled by The AFL and Gil.

The findings will be kept in house, and so no one really actually knows the actual events (or close to it) as to what really happened/went down.

No one wins from this.

Of course it is, probably should be how people feel as no-one knows what really went on

There is alwaus a winner and like most cases, lawyers win

Was just thinking that as I read this thread, lol.
Loved the old days of U/19's, Reserves, then Seniors GF all on the same day at the G.
Way too much emphasis put on the entertainment side of things nowadays.
Put the 3 games on (I know it won't ever happen again) & have a concert afterwards if you have to have music & fireworks there at all.
Wow, I've become a grumpy old bastard 😂
Sign me up to the grumpy old bastard bandwagon!

Then again, I was at the Gabba last night surrounded by youth (25 and younger). I hate the songs after goals. But for some reason they love to sing Country Road after a Charlie Cameron goal. I still think it’s trite to celebrate a goal, which in its essence is already a celebration, but the young people seem to love it.

A fist pump, raised arm with an added leap for “special occasions”.

Grudgingly accept the Americanisation of our sporting society. But it is grudgingly, all of the ridiculous affirmations by hand slapping, fist bumping and many variations that occur after an even mildly good act (or even “encouragement” after a bad one).

Really does nothing to confirm REAL team unity and buy in.

A simple slap on the back or backside as the team returns in no nonsense fashion to starting positions to resume play would be ultra refreshing. I suppose they have to do something in the obligatory time delay before a bounce to allow for a quick ad for the broadcasters, or we wait 20 or thirty seconds for sides to nominate a ruck around the ground.

Every action from kicking ootf to kicking a goal is met with a hand seeking another. It's utterly cringeworthy.
Dunno.

We've spent an awful long time as a society trying to forget how important other people are to each other. Touch is a fairly important way of affirming that connection.

We're still animals in some ways, and this is one of them.

Well, Bill, I'd go one step further and say the hand slap should be outlawed from the game altogether. It's just a bit of bs that the West Indies Americans have introduced into the game. When it comes to congratulating your teammates, there's simply no better way of doing it than the traditional Australian hug or a kiss or a lick, etc...
