Get him in.

No from me.

Malthouse and Pagan all over again.

And even just as an assistant, I feel like he is burnt out as coach.

If anyone, Luke Beveridge or Ken Hinkley are current coaches we should target if we despite Voss is not our man.

Why those two?

The players all seem to respond favourably to those two blokes, and they have good track records of managing club lists and rebuilding them (Ken has done it twice at Port in fact)

I do hope Voss gets at least another year to try turn it around though.

I'd like him in any capacity. One of the all time great coaches and only 50, plenty of years left in the game if he desires.

I think it's fair to say that Dimma took Richmond from a laughing stock to a powerhouse

His first few years as coach there was no picnic either

This is why I firmly believe we need to hold our nerve with Vossy and give him more time, last season (before injuries caught up to us in the last 6 weeks or so) our game plan seemed fine and the players all seemed to be on sync.

I don't believe we should sack any coach after one bad season, we did that with Ratts, a decision that set us back 5 years or so.

The culture of the footy club and the players need stability and continuity, from a coaching and mentoring perspective

If there was a market, I’d put a few dollars on Hardwick ending up at Gold Coast. Reckon he’s had enough of the Melbourne media grilling along with the speculation about his personal life in a city that embraces stuff like that. Up north, that would be far less intense…and that also gives him a good break before going again.

Would love him as a senior assistant to Vossy but the chances of that happening are slim to none.

Yeah I ain't sayin we should ditch Voss but I wouldn't say no to Dimma if he wanted a gig

Dimma to Gold Coast has Gil's smell all over it.

His farewell gift to GC17.

GC have a list but as much as the players like Dew (reminds me of our boys loving Ratts tbh) he's not getting results fast enough for the AFL's liking.

Well, Bill, I'd go one step further and say the hand slap should be outlawed from the game altogether. It's just a bit of bs that the West Indies Americans have introduced into the game. When it comes to congratulating your teammates, there's simply no better way of doing it than the traditional Australian hug or a kiss or a lick, etc...

"Let's get some assistants like Dimma got, good on strategy and ball movement. They made him."

Dimmas quit

"Let's get Dimma" - who needed said assistants.

Would rather we worked with Voss on what he needs than pick up another burnt out coach. Would be happy with Hardwick in a support role.

One of our coterie benefactors should flick him some coin to do a consultancy role. Identify what is missing from our coaching and support group ala Tigers model.

I am not anti Voss, but he needs some help. The inner sanctum can assess if he is the right man going forward. Strategically he doesn’t have “it” in his own right.

Anyone watching RTB? St. Kilda ain’t playing his historic game style RTB 2.0 clearly is leaning heavily on his handpicked assistants. Theoretically Vossy could do the same, providing he has the mind set.

I'm intrigued he thinks it's the right time for the club.

Walking away mid season while they're in a finals hunt (albeit lower chance) doesn't exactly leave the club in a fantastic spot.

He's absolutely earned the right to leave when he wants but that specific line feels odd.

It was a gracious and classy presser from Dimma I thought, spoke very well and his love and appreciation of the people of the Richmond footy club shone though.

He made great points about strong clubs backing their people and ignoring the ourside/external noise (from the media and disgruntled fans in 2016, for example)

Really hope Sayers and Cook listened to it and will keep their promise to back Vossy in (least until the end of 2024 as they said)

Did he mention Docklands being the reason for quitting? 🤣

It feels strange that a triple premiership coach wouldn't even get a farewell game this Sunday at the 'G in front of a large home crowd. Probably his choice, but still a little odd.

AA Selectors 2023 ...

Gillon McLachlan (chairperson), Kevin Bartlett, Eddie Betts, Jude Bolton, Nathan Buckley, Kane Cornes, Andrew Dillon, Glen Jakovich, Laura Kane, Cameron Ling and Matthew Pavlich. Kevin 'Shifter' Sheehan is also a selector for the AFL Rising Star Award.
