What's a Dylan Stephens? Any good?

Pick 25 + pick 20 good?

Ummmmm, these two sentences contradict each other.......

Because I think this poster is just a Russian script designed to defend Tom Mitchell or Clarko despite how senseless it is.

Seriously getting tiresome listening to people defend clarkson’s last 2-3 years. They were shocking. Love what he did for our club and he will always be a legend but in the same breath after 2016’s failed 4-peat we needed to start culling. No one here doesn’t love him but don’t defend the indefensible and yes hindsight is wonderful.

Clayton Oliver confirmed in hospital this morning. Reason for admission not reported yet.

I suppose working for the scum for 20 plus years with naught to show for it would make anyone a miserable flog.

Though I choose to believe the theory that Dodo has been a double agent the whole entire time. What else can explain their record during his tenure?
You’ve uncovered my secret, been sending him cheques every month for years, he had one job. Pick the duds! Mission accomplished.

An excerpt from the interview with Ratts on his new role :

"I'll take a little bit of that off him, work with the coaches really closely to help support them, maybe even having a bit of a different look at the gameplan and how we are going about it."

That could probably be good but I think Sam has a very good idea of the gameplan he wants and has had for quite a while. I just hope it doesn't turn into another Clarko and Mitch FUBAR that had Big Boy et al asking "what's going on?"

Ratts can bring a lot to the table, let's just hope it's a round one.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I'm not liking the push to throw the ball up at centre bounces.

Why couldn't we have a specialist ball up person that comes on and off at the start of each quarter and after a goal is scored ?

Maintains tradition of ball ups, let's the umps focus and improve on important areas of their responsibility and creates jobs. Win win win

Could even run competitions to win the right to a game day ball up.

:)

Or the thing that would just solve the problem completely, the time for the start of each quarter only starts once the ball has been touched for a hitout.

It
But it doesn't improve the bounce or solve any problem
solves the 20 seconds taken off the clock when a bounce is recalled. because they don't put that time back.

The only problem is that time is wasted recalling. Just retake a bounce, that's fine but don't lose time
The real problem is umpires have to be good at two things: umpiring, and bouncing an oval ball side-on straight up in the air with tens of thousands of people watching you do it.

How many good umpires do we miss out on because they can't also do that one circus trick well enough? How many crappy umpires do we have to put up with because they can?

Surely there's blokes out there who can do it every time. Wheel them out for the centre bounce and let the umpires umpire.

Having Ratt's challenge Sam's game plan will only hone it, plus i imagine the demands on Sam's time would be massive. Picking up a bit of slack from him and playing the Chris Fagan role, one he would intimate knowledge of from the three peat, is a big plus. So glad he is back in the fold. Interested to see who picks up the forward line coach job!?
