that was the angriest id been after a game IRL, had to go to Bunnings the next day to buy a new backdoor for the house coz I punched a hole in it.

I remember taking off my jacket just so I could have something to angrily throw.
It's weird cos I'm a calm person in real life but it's kinda silly cos I'd normally get pissed off with the footy

I'm usually the type who just says typical Melbourne when we lost back then, when Gawn missed that shot late against Geelong at the G I laughed. Some losses cut deeper than you expect. The Geelong and St.Kilda game where those two for me. Never been as mad after a game in my life as I was those two.

Holy shit don't remind us of that game
I think that and the Zach Touhy goal after the siren ('18) was the angriest I've ever been
Winning the next week against Geelong eased the pain. The Geelong game in 18 was more of a bitter pill to swallow, essentially both games against Geelong cost us top 4, win just one we are in. Losing to Port in Adelaide was frustrating too, then losing to 3rd bottom saints by 2 points the following week is underrated frustration.

Probably a difference between missing to win, and ****ing up to lose. I wasn't overly mad at Weid in 19? When he missed near the siren. The Toumpas and Touhy ones stung.

Prelim Final in '18 was that episode for me.

Was at the game and it happened right in front of me, right in front of me! Can't blame weid when everyone was missing in that quarter. It was actually a relief in a sense, basically put a line through our season.

I loved the game in 2018 round 22 over in WC that locked in finals with Dean Kent kicking the set shot sealer from 50. Omac concussing Jack Darling. Salem amazing off half back and Melky kicking 4 on Mcgovern from memory.

Went for a hike up Mt Macedon before the game and it was bucketing snow then watched the game in a pub in Castlemaine. So good.

Macedon is lovely, that’s up around my neck of the woods.

When we played the Eagles I worked till 3 that day then went and saw a movie because I was too nervous to watch the game. Checked final score on way home and had to pull the car over as I started crying 😂

Knew we had it in the bag when it was shitting down snow at Mt Macedon - pretty uncommon event from what I understand. Footy gods on our side that day.

Reminds me in 2002 I took my cousin to see Scooby doo movie came out and saw Melbourne were pumping Brisbane up at the Gabba. One of my all time favourite games getting pumped in the 1st quarter then completely pumping the reigning and eventual premiers on their home turf. Ah Melbourne 02 can beat the top team away but then lose to Richmond who were on a 7 game losing streak something like that.

I'd love somebody to run our 3rd quarter stats from start of last year to now.

How much we average, how much we out-score the oppo, how far above the league we are, how we rank historically.

I don't know how to do that all without doing it super manually and laboriously.

But our 3rd quarter record is unbelievable. Legacy of Burgo of course ;)

We've won 27 lost 5. Won all 7 this year not sure how to find out about the finding the other stuff without going through every game.

Ok I got bored and crunch some numbers I came up with we average 4.2 for and 2.2. Our average winning margin is 16.3 and losing margin is 8. Though this was looking through each game manually so the numbers may be wrong.

Highest is 10.2 round 5 2022 vs gws
Lowest is 0.2 against Brisbane in the qualifying final.
Biggest win was the preliminary final vs Geelong which was 49 points. (8.2 to 0.1)
Biggest loses is 11 points round 4 2021 vs Geelong ( they kicked 5 straight to 3.1) and the qualifying final vs Brisbane (0.2 to 2.1)

I just stumbled on this just now. Okay so I listen to Gus and Gawny weekly, and fully acknowledge that it’s appeal would largely, if not entirely, resonate amongst Melbourne supporters of the nuffy variety.

But here is a taste of the Essendon version… like yeah… the boys go yeah and nah… I dunno… so yeah like…

It‘s riveting!

Posts it in "General MFC Discussion".... yea nah
It relates to the comparison with the quality of the Melbourne podcast, nitwit.

Plus I didn’t realise and would move it because apparently I can do that, but I always balls that up so let’s not go there
