Are people putting much into having MPP this year?

For Ruck<>Fwd I have Rowe (ruck) <> Cox (fwd)
Mid <> Fwd I have Kerridge (mid) <> Bartell, Varcoe (fwd)
Fwd <> Def I have Staker (fwd) <> Broughton <Def> - not sure on this, i hear Staker might be out?
Def <> Mid I have Goddard, Gibbs, Heppel, Goodes, Colquhoun (def) <> no one in mid.

I'm worried about not having a Mid that can go Def? Should I be concerned about this? If so, are there any recommendations who to pick? Everyone is saying to put Goodes in Def, and pick better mid rookies.
Are my other line MPP choices week? (e.g. Kerridge, Staker)

Appreciate any thoughts :D
Port is producing more than enough rookie defenders this year. It may pay to put Goodes in your mids, and pick up another rookie defender.

Heath, Stevenson, Terlich, Pittard and docherty all present value

sorry if asked before...but does anyone know where I can get SC points (live or otherwise) during the NAB Cup?? Have an App that gives me Dreamteam live, but not SC. Thanks.

You can't get live SC scores in the NAB Cup AFAIK.

Isn't there normally one of these?

All questions not related to players in here.

First off from me, how many rookies (therefore, players to be upgraded) are people planning on starting?

I have 7, but can get 6 if I don't get the super premiums like Pendlebury/Ablett/Franklin...

Would 7 be the usual?

Fantasy Freako shares some on Twitter, but otherwise you have to wait for the master spreadsheet to drop next week.

Draft question, pick 51- I have Ablett, J Selwood, Ryder, Birchall, Tex Walker. Who the heck next? Considering Judd, Bennell, Duffield and daisy Thomas, due to lack off forwards ahead. Stanton, Sloane next options. Help? Ideas?

Question. Would it be nuts to put Hawkins in for 1 week against Hawthorn and then bring Stevie J in the next week? It could be the difference between and overall win in week 1. I think it's worth a gamble. Pros/Cons ?
That's probably something you'd do in DT with the unlimited trades rather than SC. I'm not sure Hawkins would be the best option however, could be though.

Yeah I just thought with his recent record against Hawthorn... I just wasn't that taken with the other options at the same price like Lewis, Daisy and I already have Rockliff. I could even go Cloke or Walker or Sydney FWD and hope they kick a big score against GWS. I'm probably just about Willing to lose the trade to have a throw at the stumps. I have mainly Guna & Rookies so the guns won't change except for injury and the rookies will need time to earn cash, so all going well I should have alot of trades left by Rounds 8-10 and I'll forever kick myself if I lose the chance to go for glory by worrying about 1 trade out of 30!

I'm doing (or planning on doing) exactly the same thing - think its one of those decisions that just appears and feels right at this stage I'm considering using A Goodes against GWS)

I have pick 2 in the draft. Assuming Ablett goes first... what would be the consensus second pick? I honestly can't figure it out. First thought is Pendlebury, I don't think Swan will have as dominant a year. Or, because I don't get another pick til pick 15, should I go for a key forward? Argh. Pick 1 is 1,000 times easier than Pick 2.

Hi guys,
I wasn't clear with regards to a few things in Super Coach draft. Any help would be greatly appreciated:

  1. What happens if you have an uneven number of teams in your league?
  2. With regards to the "League Approved" trade options, is there a time limit on "vetos"? (I.E if 40% of people don't veto within a week, does it just let the trade go through?
  3. With regards to the Trade Waivers system:
    • Is it only the last person on the ladder/last pick which get to pick up a free agent before anyone else or does everyone get a crack at the person in a particular order?
    • If the waiver time period the time period for each player or the total time period?

You have to go gun mid first then ruckman.

1. Not sure I just assume you would get the win if there was no opponent.
2. Ours is about 4 days I think? If it doesnt get vetoed it just goes through.
3. The waiver is released about 2 days after the draft takes place and you can pick up anyone you like that hasn't been assigned to a team.

At the end of this weekend, are the HS going to do that pre season spreadsheet with all the SC scores from the Pre Season with the averages etc?

Now that I did mine last night, here's my thoughts that were largely borne out:
  • Rucks are overrated. Everyone will draft two starters, so in a eight team league that's 16 rucks. You'll find the 16th best ruck is still someone who can probably average 100, like Minson, so you can let them slide.
  • Ablett, Swan and Pendlebury are so far ahead of the pack that they have to be the first three picks. The next three should be Franklin, Cox and Natanui (IMO) because they're almost as far ahead of the other forwards as ASP are ahead of other midfielders.
  • Once ASP are gone, you can wait on midfielders. The high scorers from last year may not be able to back it up again, so are risky picks. All the other midfielders are capable of that 100-115 average that you'll be looking for. Remember that because each can only be in one team, no one's going to have a brilliant midfield without having severly hindered themselves elsewhere.
  • Play it safe with defenders. They come and go year to year, so consistent defenders (even players like Adcock) are gems.
  • Forwards drop off quite quickly in reliability after the first 10 or so, so try to get as many as possible of them once the top notch defenders are gone (Goddard, Gibbs and Shaw).

Anyone know if the weekends practice games stats will be available on the afl website? i know cats are currently beating pies but cannot find any "real" stats anywhere?

Fantasy Freako has some quarter by quarter SC scores here

With the captain loophole, say we use Sinclair (WC) as the guinea pig. Assuming Sinclair is playing on Sunday or a game after your VC or C. So say for instance Collingwood are playing on Friday night and I put VC on Pendles, if he doesn't play that well then I can put C on someone else say GAJ. However, if he kills it 150+ for example then we put C on Sinclair. And thus we capitalise on this loophole - is this how it essentially works?
And we can do this so long as the VC plays before the go to C and both of which play before Sinclair ( or any other player you choose)? Are there any other tricks like this? :p
Cheers!

Is there anywhere i can find game statistics of this weeks nab games. ie Number of Disposals, tackles time on field.
Should be out early this week.
